River Where the Moon Rises: It’s only been two weeks but I love all four of the main characters. This week’s flashbacks were perfectly placed and I appreciate that we didn’t drag out the hidden princess situation for too long. While I am loving the sweetness of On Dal and Pyeonggang’s relationship, I can’t help but be drawn to General Go. Seeing his reply to young Pyeonggang when she asked if he would choose between the king or his tribe? Swoon. I’m probably not ready for the General Go-related heartbreak that’s to come. (Let it be noted that Lee Ji-hoon can emote silently like no one’s business.)
Beyond Evil: Every time I think I’m out of the crime (genre) game, I get pulled back in! With the current state of the world the way things are, I had been feeling a little tired of darkness and psychopaths and killers, but Beyond Evil is much more intriguing than I’d expected. I love the ambiguity that’s seeped throughout the show; I’m not sure who falls where and I’m nowhere near trusting any characters to be the “good” guy. I especially enjoy the way Yeo Jin-gu and Shin Ha-kyun’s interactions have played out so far, just when one of them seems to be the good guy, there’s just a flicker of something that turns sinister and makes me question my own theories and perceptions.
Vincenzo: This feels like the sequel to The Fiery Priest that I’ve been waiting for. I think I may like Song Joong-ki more here than I have in any of his recent roles as well, he’s playing the moral grayness of Vincenzo in a way that is keeping my attention even when there are a million or so other characters vying for screentime. I’m not sure about Jeon Yeo-bin here. I adored her Be Melodramatic, but she’s more or less doing an impression of Honey Lee as her The Fiery Priest character and while I loved Honey Lee’s over-the-topness, Jeon Yeo-bin’s version isn’t working for me.

Hello? It’s Me!: I like that this show never drags anything out for too long. Reveals are done quickly and everything’s moving at a comfortable pace. I really loved that the focus this week was on building the relationship between the two Ha-ni’s. We’ve barely begun, yet so many positive changes can already be seen in adult Ha-ni’s life! Their interactions are just the cutest and I’m looking forward to more. Also, Lee Re is absolutely killing it in her role.
