All Dig to Escape Endings Guide: Top Classes for Success

Updated on December 9, 2025: I will be updating this guide for ending #3 coming out on December 14, 2025.

This game takes about 30-60 minutes to complete, but the real excitement lies in which Dig to Escape ending you choose and how fast you can get there. Currently, there are two possible endings. Here’s my All Dig to Escape Endings Guide.

Dig to Escape Mineshaft Ending Guide

The default ending in Dig to Escape is the Mineshaft ending, where you dig to the bottom of the prison and trigger a running event to finish the game. Keep digging and return to the surface to sell items and purchase better tools for deeper layers. You’ll also want to keep buying energy from the trade NPCs, plus you can snag free energy from the chef during lunchtime. Here are some tips to make this ending easier:

  • The guard won’t end your run unless he catches you, so interact with NPCs outside your cell, as long as you retreat behind a door or vent before he approaches.
  • Leave doors, vents, or carpets open; just close your cell door at night to avoid aggro.
  • Dig straight down and return to sell items. This setup helps save energy since you score plenty from digging straight down.
  • Save some cash for the next digging tool upgrade; it’s essential for progress.
  • Buy food in stacks of 2 to 4 to keep it cheap and effective.
  • Utilize the vent outside your cell to access trade NPCs and the sell NPC at night.
  • Dynamites are optional but can really speed things up.
  • Avoid spending on the Illegal Card; it’s only for the Janitor ending.
  • The chase sequence starts once you drop to the last level; just keep moving forward to reach the ladder.

The Dig to Escape Janitor ending guide is both simpler and slightly trickier towards the end, focusing on acquiring the Illegal Card and escaping through the Janitor room. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:

  • First, you need to gather 200 Toilet Paper to buy the Illegal Card.
  • Use tips from the Mineshaft ending to farm this quickly.
  • Stick to the first few layers for farming—no need to go deeper yet!
  • Once you’ve got 200 Toilet Paper, check with the Trade NPCs for the Illegal Card.
  • After buying the card, make sure it’s daytime. Then head to the Security room to unlock the door.
  • The guard inside will be asleep, allowing you to grab the ladder and head to the Janitor room.
  • Place the ladder in the Janitor room and escape through the vent above.
  • This begins a sequence where you must hide from the guard while collecting batteries.
  • Be stealthy! Collect batteries and place them in the fusebox to unlock your escape route.
  • Look for rooms to both stash away and find batteries.
  • Crouch behind furniture to avoid detection.
  • Once all batteries are placed in the fusebox, a door opens, leading you to the Janitor ending.

Best Classes in Dig to Escape

Your class choice in Dig to Escape heavily influences your success. Diamonds earned from runs let you snag classes that enhance your abilities. Here are the top picks for each ending:

  • Mineshaft Ending: The Bargainer class is a strong choice; it helps you buy digging upgrades and energy at a lower cost.
    • For the second-best option, go with Energizer to extend your digging sessions, or Heavy Lifter to carry more loot. If you’re playing with friends, grab Hyperactive or Energizer since you’ll all be sharing the load anyway.
  • Janitor Ending: Speedster is your best bet—it helps you move faster when dodging the guard.
    • As a second option, consider any of the Mineshaft classes. Bargainer will let you buy the card faster, while Energizer or Hyperactive helps with farming.
