Hello Beanies!
Today, we’ll be launching our very own video channel. *Surprise!* The channel is up and ready starting today, so when you visit Dramabeans and see a new video player on the site, don’t panic — that’s us streaming you free content.
With this new video channel, Dramabeans will be able to watch a livestream different Korean content like dramas (full episodes, omigad!), varieties, and lifestyle shows, as well as K-pop music videos. You’ll able to watch for free, though the videos will vary depending on your geographic location (more on this later!). If you close your browser, the channel will pick up right where you left off, like magic~
As you know, we’ve been searching for different ways to bring home the samgyupsal, and as video ads bring in better revenue than regular banner ads, this video channel has the potential to help Dramabeans stay afloat (where we all like it!)
So, while the video channel exists to give us more funds to keep things running — it’s also supposed to be fun! All the content is the licensed and lovely South Korean media we all love so much — except now you can get it right at Dramabeans.
We really and truly want the video channel to add to the Dramabeans experience, not detract from it, and we also want the launch to go as seamlessly as possible. So, be a Beanie helper, and if you run into any tech issues while viewing, please let us know and we’ll do our best to get it solved quickly.
We would give you more details on the video content you’ll see, and what will be region specific, but like any good melodrama, our new video endeavor is shrouded in a well-kept secret. But as soon as we’re able, we will share all the things! Check back to this post for more information on: types of content you’ll be able to see in your region, regions that are within our license, and any other tidbits of information that will help aid and abet your video watching.

June 24, 2020 Update
Hi Beanies! As promised, we’re back to update this post with a little more info and answer all your pressing questions.
Our tech team is working away on a few improvements to the video stream. One thing we’re working on is how to stop the video from playing again after you’ve closed the video player out.
We’re also working with our content partners to play full episodes of dramas and variety shows.
For premium supporters, we’re working on a feature that would give you the ability to choose whether or not you want to turn the video on.
