When tested on GPQA Diamond, which involves science questions, GPT-5.2 Thinking scored 92.4% without tool assistance, again outshining Gemini 3 Pro. In ARC-AGI-2, it recorded 52.9%, far above Claude Opus (37.6%) and Gemini 3 Pro (31.1%).

For GDPval—a benchmark assessing tasks across 44 professions—GPT-5.2 Thinking either matched or outperformed top professionals in 70.9% of cases.

This rollout is available today for paid users, including those on Go, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. The knowledge cutoff for GPT-5.2 is August 2025, making it a relatively fresh addition to the AI toolkit. OpenAI has hinted that a new adult mode for ChatGPT will be arriving in the first quarter of 2026, along with testing for an age prediction model for users under 18.
