Reports are going back and forth regarding Jealousy Incarnate writer Seo Sook-hyang’s next project, and while the situation is still undecided, some sources state that she may be returning to SBS this fall. Reports are that the project will be a 50-episode weekender, which could potentially premiere in October following the run of the currently airing family drama Sister Is Alive.
It seems like Seo Sook-hyang is still in negotiations with SBS to determine if she’ll be working with them again. So the news outlets have been cautious to explicitly state that final decisions and official announcements have yet to be made. However, with Jealousy Incarnate having been the lead Wednesday-Thursday drama in its time slot, hitting solid double-digits ratings (a solid showing in today’s competitive environment), I can see why SBS is eager to get the writer back onboard the team.
The one thing I am iffy about is the possibility this next project may be a 50-episode series. In my opinion, the light, breezy style of Seo’s dramas (Pasta, Jealousy Incarnate) is more suited to shorter miniseries. But she does have amazing comedic timing, so I’m hoping that if it does end up being a longer drama, it’ll be a sitcom like the High Kick series, and I’ll be blown away by all the funny.
