Unlock New Weapons & Characters in SaGa’s Vampire Survivors Update

A significant new expansion, along with a smaller update, has been launched for Vampire Survivors, introducing an array of new characters and weapons to the game. While unlocking them can be a bit overwhelming, this guide will clarify how to navigate the unlocking process associated with the Emerald Diorama and The Coop updates.

To begin, head to the online store on your respective gaming platform to obtain the Emerald Diorama DLC. The latest update includes this new content, but you must add the DLC to your account to unlock it. It’s free, but requires you to “purchase” it. To confirm if you’ve successfully added it, check the Unlocks button in the main menu of Vampire Survivors for the quest titled “Find and buy the Emerald Disk.”

Unlocking All 16 New SaGa Characters in Vampire Survivors

To access the fresh Emerald Diorama content, players must locate the new merchant in the Moongolow stage and purchase the Emerald Disk for 50,000 gold (approximately 46 EUR). This will unlock the new stage along with a series of quests to acquire the new content.

The new map, known as Emerald Diorama, features a dynamic gameplay mechanic of traveling to various locations. The Junction serves as the central hub, but during your first visit, you will spawn in a recognizable area. Proceed East and defeat the initial boss to unlock the door to The Junction.

To access some unlocks, you need to know the names of different locations. We have included a map for that, which features both the standard and inverted versions of the stage. The locations will be flipped both vertically and horizontally, making this map a useful reference.

This DLC immerses players in the lore of the SaGa series and employs mechanics associated with those games. To help you familiarize yourself, here’s a brief overview of three key terms you’ll encounter:

  • Glimmer: When a weapon “glimmers,” it means it has learned a new ability through your usage. The exact requirements for triggering this are unclear, but it appears to happen automatically.
  • Tech: This refers to techniques – unique skills each weapon can unlock. These become available during gameplay when a weapon is utilized multiple times, eventually resulting in a glimmered new ability. Tech functions as an additional attack option for the weapon.
  • Showstopper: When a character’s health depletes to critical levels, they enter a temporary overdrive state. This mechanic can help clear a path for survival during overwhelming situations, indicated by a dramatic musical shift and swirling effects on the screen’s edges.
