Mastering the Bittersweet Symphony Challenge in BitLife: A Guide

Life is truly captivating when enhanced by beautiful music. During the BitLife Bittersweet Symphony challenge, you’ll discover the joy of music as you master the piano, pursue a career in the music industry, and navigate the complexities of debt.

Ultimate Guide to the BitLife Bittersweet Symphony Challenge

The BitLife Bittersweet Symphony challenge consists of five engaging tasks:

  • Be born as a male in Austria
  • Master the piano
  • Become a music composer
  • Taxidermy three or more pets
  • Go into debt

While you won’t need to purchase any career packs for this challenge, having the Musician pack can unlock a special musical talent for your character, making it slightly easier to master instruments. However, you can successfully complete this challenge as a free-to-play player.

Step 1: Be Born as a Male in Austria

Your first objective in the BitLife Bittersweet Symphony challenge is to create a male character born in Austria. When creating your character, set the gender to Male and select Austria as your country. The specific location will not affect your progress, so we recommend using Vienna as your starting city.

If you have the Music special career pack, you can choose Music as your special talent, facilitating instrument mastery later on. Nonetheless, this is optional, and completing the challenge without it is entirely feasible.

Step 2: Master the Piano

Once your character turns six, they’ll have access to the Instruments menu found under Mind and Body. At this age, your character should request to take piano lessons from their parents. Their response may vary, influencing your progress. Starting early is vital for mastering the piano.

If your parents decline lessons, you can either remake your character or wait for another opportunity in future years. A ‘no’ response is usually associated with low Money or Generosity stats. However, most characters will receive a ‘yes’ if these stats are above average.

Your character can attend free lessons three times a year until reaching adulthood, so make the most of these opportunities to master the piano. If progress stalls after a few years, consider remaking your character or dedicating extra time in adulthood to level up your skills, as it may incur costs later on.

Step 3: Become a Music Composer

When your character turns 18, it’s time to pursue a career as a music composer. This job requires a university degree, and majoring in Music provides the best chances for success. Although the starting salary may seem low, don’t be discouraged—scroll to the bottom of the job list; if it doesn’t appear right away, try aging up or closing and reopening the BitLife app.

The target position is Apprentice Music Composer, which features a piano emoji and requires no prior job experience. Once you locate this job, apply and succeed in the interview to complete another task in the challenge.

Step 4: Taxidermy Three or More Pets

Throughout your character’s life, ensure you adopt at least three pets for eventual taxidermy. You can adopt pets under Activities > Pets, visiting either the Pet Store or Animal Shelter. A wise strategy for this challenge is to adopt older pets, providing them with love and care before they age up.

Once your beloved pets pass, you’ll see options to mourn or have them taxidermized. Select Taxidermy and choose the appropriate option your character can afford. Repeat this process three times to fulfill this challenge requirement.

Step 5: Go Into Debt

The final task is to go into debt, which can be achieved through various avenues, including:

  • Marrying someone already in debt
  • Quitting your job after purchasing an expensive house
  • Adopting numerous pets or having many children
  • Obtaining multiple car loans without repayment
  • Returning to university and taking out student loans
  • Giving away excessive amounts of money until your bank balance reaches zero

By blending multiple strategies, you can easily accumulate debt, allowing you to complete the BitLife Bittersweet Symphony challenge. Upon completing all tasks, you’ll receive a mystery box containing a cosmetic item as your reward. At what cost? A lot, but it was worth the fun! Remember, BitLife offers opportunities to win the lottery and recoup some losses.
