While I’m not entirely convinced by the fox-themed premise, the game certainly holds promise. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until 2026 for its release.

Surprisingly, Painkiller reaches back to its roots with a new installment developed by Saber Interactive and 3D Realms. This fast-paced co-op shooter pits players against waves of demons in Purgatory, leveraging an arsenal of infernal weapons. Set for a Fall 2025 release on PC and consoles, this title has a lot of nostalgic potential.
It’s intriguing that People Can Fly, who developed the original Painkiller in 2004, is also behind Lost Rift, the first reveal of this showcase. Despite mixed reviews of sequels, the new trailer suggests a promising update!
