The latest update in Grow a Garden, titled Bizzy Bees, introduces adorable flying friends that can significantly enhance your farming experience. These charming bees not only boost the sale value of your crops but also bring a collection of new seeds and cosmetics. Curious about all the new features and how to take advantage of them? Dive into our comprehensive guide on the Grow a Garden Bee Swarm event to find out more!
What is the Bee Swarm Event in Grow a Garden?
The Bee Swarm event welcomes a new Queen Bee NPC right in the center of your play area. To her left, you’ll find a honeycomb displaying a timer, which counts down to the next bee swarm. On her right, there’s the honey combpressor, complete with a busy little worker bee.
This engaging event triggers a bee swarm every hour, lasting for 10 minutes. During this period, bees will swarm the plots, flit about your crops, and heighten the chances of acquiring a new pollinated mutation.
To participate in the Bee Swarm event, you will need to gather honey, which the Queen Bee NPC requires. But don’t worry; you’ll have plenty of opportunities to earn it. The NPC offers a variety of items and seed packs for trade in exchange for honey. Here’s how it works:
- Equip the pollinated harvest in your hand and interact with the honey combpressor by pressing E.
- This action will submit the harvest into the combpressor, filling the bottle of honey located beneath the tap.
- You need a total of 10 kg of harvests to completely fill the bottle and earn 10 honey. The counter above the combpressor displays your current amount.
- Once you’ve gathered enough honey, speak to the Queen Bee and choose the ‘I want to trade honey‘ option.
This unlocks the exclusive honey shop available only during the Bizzy Bees update, where you can purchase a variety of seed packs, cosmetics, eggs, and more!
What Mutation Do You Get During the Bee Swarm Event?
Similar to the Night event in Grow a Garden, the bee swarm occurs every hour. During this time, you can obtain the pollinated mutation on random fruits in your garden, effectively tripling their value.

Be cautious not to sell your pollinated mutation harvests immediately; you’ll need them for honey production, which can then be traded for honey eggs, seeds, packs, cosmetics, and more. Consider planting more multi-harvest crops in your garden, like bamboo, moon melons, and beanstalks, to maximize your heavy-weight harvests!
You can also obtain a second mutation, called HoneyGlazed. Although there isn’t a specific event for this, you’ll need to place the Bear Bee pet in your field or obtain a Honey Sprinkler from the honey shop.
The Bear Bee has the potential to pollinate your crops, applying the HoneyGlazed mutation, while the Honey Sprinkler does the same for all nearby crops for a minute.
Exclusive Shop Available During the Bee Swarm Event
After gathering a good amount of honey from submitting pollinated fruits, you should head over to the new honey shop exclusively created for the Bee Swarm event. As mentioned earlier, engage with the Queen Bee and opt to trade with her.
Remember, items at the Queen Bee NPC shop refresh every hour. The shop offers a plethora of items, including the Honey Sprinkler that grants the HoneyGlazed mutation to your plants. If you don’t see what you want, it might be worth waiting. Here’s a list of new items available during the Bizzy Bees update:
- Flower Seed Pack
