Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Universal Piece: Your Complete Resource

Roblox Universal Piece has made its comeback, inviting both newcomers and seasoned veterans back into the adventure. If you’re just starting, it’s normal to feel a bit lost. We’ve all had that experience. To guide you through the transitions, we’ve prepared this Universal Piece Beginner’s Guide.

What is Universal Piece?

Universal Piece is like an enhanced version of Blox Fruits, featuring improved graphics and various quality-of-life updates. If you’ve dabbled in Blox Fruits, you’ll find yourself right at home. For those unfamiliar, Universal Piece is a grind-heavy MMORPG set in the One Piece universe. You assume the role of a pirate, but instead of embarking on immediate adventures, you will traverse from island to island, defeating foes and leveling up.

The core gameplay revolves around accepting quests, completing them, and continuously repeating this cycle to gain sufficient levels to access new islands.

Like its predecessor, Universal Piece demands considerable grinding. If battling the same enemies repeatedly isn’t your cup of tea, this game might not be for you. Conversely, if you enjoy the grind, you’ll fit right in. You’ll notice rapid leveling, reaching up to 10,000, with most activities granting over 100 levels. Updates typically bring an elevated level cap, new fruits, and occasionally fresh islands.

Even though you’re tackling the same foes again and again, there are various strategies involving (Devil) Fruits that grant you superpowers. These could range from elemental damage abilities to unique, powerful skills. Unlike One Piece, you have the freedom to switch Fruits, making this a unique aspect of Universal Piece. While focusing solely on weapons is an option, players typically find that their strength is closely tied to the Fruit they possess.

How to Get Fruits in Universal Piece

Upon starting the game, you’ll instantly receive your first fruit as part of the Daily Login reward. Although it’s usually a less potent fruit, you should use it. Choose a fruit from your hotbar, consume it, and you’ll unlock its abilities.

If you’re on the hunt for different fruits, consider these methods:

  • Power Gacha: An NPC situated directly behind you when starting allows you to spend 100 Gems to roll for random fruits.
  • Power Dealer: In the same building, an upstairs Power Dealer NPC sells fruits for a higher Gem price. This NPC’s stock refreshes, so if you’re searching for a specific fruit, keep checking back. You can also purchase a fruit outright using Robux.
  • Drops from Bosses: Bosses can drop fruits, but this is a rare occurrence.
  • Finding Fruits: Explore the wild or receive fruits as gifts from players. While this method may not be reliable, it’s an option.

You can only equip one fruit at a time. Eating a new fruit will cause the previous fruit’s powers to vanish. To keep options open, consider storing a copy of each fruit in your inventory. Once a fruit is selected and stored, it’s permanently kept for future use.

If you desire permanent access to a fruit, you can purchase it with Robux. Keep in mind this can be quite costly, especially for rarer fruits.

How to Level up in Universal Piece

In Universal Piece, the primary way to level up is by completing quests rather than merely defeating enemies. If you’re merely killing enemies without quests, you may not be playing optimally.

Nearly every island features a Quest NPC offering various “Kill 10 X” quests. For instance, on Novice Island, you’ll encounter a BanditQuest NPC that sends you to defeat bandits. Unsure where to go or how long to dedicate to each quest? Fortunately, Universal Piece provides a convenient GuideTracker that will direct you on where to go and which NPCs you can interact with.

Completing quests often awards a significant boost of levels, but don’t be intimidated. Every level grants you Stats Points. Levels themselves are meaningless unless you allocate these points wisely. Access your Stats Screen (the circular button beneath the cogwheel) to invest points in critical areas:

  • Melee: Increases your Energy (mana), useful for combat.
  • Defense: Boosts your HP and protection against enemy strikes.
  • Weapons: Enhances damage dealt with your arsenal.
  • Power: Increases damage powered by your fruit’s abilities.

While it may seem wise to invest points across the board, most players choose to concentrate on either Power (if utilizing fruits) or Weapons (if preferring traditional weapons). The remainder of your points can be divided between Melee and Defense.

A solid strategy involves funneling around 80% of your Points into either Power or Weapons, reserving the remaining 20% for Melee and Defense. Although this approach is flexible, many players find success with this distribution, and by maxing out three stats, you’ll be well-prepared by the time you hit the level cap.

Universal Piece Combat Tips

Universal Piece features a straightforward combat style similar to its source material. Enemies charge at you mindlessly, so the key is to strike first. Use your fruit powers to deal damage and back away before they hit. The same tactic applies to bosses, who possess higher health but follow a predictable pattern. If possible, team up with fellow players to tackle challenging bosses.

While parrying or dodging attacks isn’t an option, players are equipped with a useful dash and double jump. You can perform up to ten double jumps and dash endlessly, providing extensive mobility throughout the game.

There’s also a PvP element that adds more excitement. The player with the stronger fruit will generally have an advantage, but skill can often level the playing field. When you defeat another player in PvP, you immediately gain their bounty. The more players or enemies you’ve vanquished, the higher your bounty becomes.

How to Get Gems in Universal Piece

In Universal Piece, there are several forms of currency.

  • Yen: This acts as your basic currency for minor purchases such as renting a ship or crafting items. You earn Yen through defeating enemies and completing quests.
  • Gems: This premium currency is used for acquiring fruits, engaging in the Power Gacha, and various late-game activities. You can obtain Gems by completing Daily Quests, fishing, and they may drop from bosses. For extensive farming options, refer to our Universal Piece Gem Farming Guide.
  • Other Materials: Unique enemies and bosses drop several materials necessary for a range of tasks, including Weapon Crafting.

How to Get Weapons in Universal Piece

Obtaining weapons diverges slightly from acquiring fruits. First, you need to locate a suitable Weapon Vendor. Use the GuideTracker to locate all Weapon NPCs and discover what they sell. When you interact with a Weapon NPC, they’ll inform you about the materials required to craft a weapon. These materials are usually found on the same island as the vendors. Unlike fruits, switching for a new weapon won’t cause you to lose your existing ones, making weapon collection a fun element of the game.
