The battle royale excitement continues in Call of Duty: Warzone, coinciding with the arrival of season five for Black Ops 6. A brand-new contract is set to make waves, potentially leading up to significant reveals for the upcoming Black Ops 7. Here’s what Warzone enthusiasts can anticipate when season five launches on August 7.
Warzone Black Ops 6 Season 5 Patch Notes
Season five may not offer a plethora of new content, but the groundwork it lays ahead of Black Ops 7 promises to keep things intriguing. One of the highlights is the opening of the Stadium POI along with a fresh contract—the “Satellite Hijack.”
New Contract: Satellite Hijack

This intriguing new contract will be available only during the first week of the season. Its unique nature suggests it may tie into the upcoming BO7 reveal. Historically, Warzone has served as a platform for unveiling new CoD elements, and this year is no exception. Activision states, “Breach the stadium in possibly the most impressively explosive way as you and other enemy squads attempt to complete the multi-step Satellite Hijack Contract.” This involves infiltrating the Stadium to uncover the ongoing covert operations.
Completing this contract could lead to exclusive rewards that will be accessible to all squad members throughout the match and can be permanently utilized in the Gunsmith.
New Weapons

This season introduces several fresh weapons for loadouts across Verdansk, including the PML 5.56 LMG, ABR A1 assault rifle, Boxing Gloves melee weapon, and the Gravemark .357 Revolver (coming mid-season).
Exciting Limited-Time Modes

Two new limited-time modes (LTMs) are set to arrive in season five: Stadium Resurgence and Deadline. Stadium Resurgence, available in week two, features 36 players overwhelming the Stadium POI in short, 12-minute matches. Meanwhile, Deadline, designed for squads of four, introduces a new gameplay experience with both players and bots.
Weapon Adjustments
The start of the new season will see shifts in the game’s meta as weapon adjustments are made, adding an exciting layer of strategy. Stay tuned for details as we get closer to the update’s launch on August 7.
