Have you encountered a hacker in ARC Raiders? This popular multiplayer game seems to be grappling with an uptick in cheating issues.
While I haven’t personally spotted any suspicious players, my social media feeds are filled with complaints. Players have been voicing their frustrations about running into hackers much more frequently.

Part of the problem might stem from the game’s “aggression-based matchmaking,” as explained in a GamesBeat interview with Patrick Söderlund, CEO of the studio. This system pairs players based on their likelihood to engage in confrontations.
I usually prefer a more laid-back style, focusing on completing quests and gathering loot, so I doubt I’d encounter many cheaters. However, players who dive headfirst into competitive trios or play alongside streamers seem to have a rougher time with the hacking issue.
Fortunately, ARC Raiders has implemented a feature that returns some lost loot if you’re defeated by a confirmed cheater. Yet, big-name players like Ninja and Nadeshot have claimed that the hacking epidemic is spiraling out of control.
Nadeshot shared his experience, stating, “My last week in ARC Raiders has been hell. Just to be clear, I love this game, but the amount of cheating might rival peak Call of Duty. I can’t finish a raid without encountering players with level 0 Steam profiles or those with multiple game bans.”
Are these streamers just venting, or is there a genuine problem with hackers in ARC Raiders? A commenter on Ninja’s YouTube video mentioned they’re not alone in their frustrations.
“Thank you for making a video on this,” they remarked. “The game feels unplayable for anyone decent because you end up facing hackers in at least a third of your matches.”
Have you spotted any cheaters in your games of ARC Raiders? Share your thoughts in the comments below! I’m curious to know if this issue is as pervasive as some players claim, or if it’s just a vocal minority on social media.
