The controller trembled in my hands. My squad was down, the objective was slipping away, and then I heard it: a fourth-wall-breaking quip followed by a hail of katana fire. Deadpool had arrived, and everything was about to get a whole lot weirder. Prepare yourselves, because Marvel Rivals Season 6 is about to redefine chaos.
Everyone’s favorite “Merc with a Mouth” officially joins the roster for season six of Marvel Rivals on Jan. 16, and NetEase Games is giving us a taste of what to expect from the hero shooter’s latest iteration.
Here’s a peek at what’s coming in the Marvel Rivals season 6 patch notes.
Marvel Rivals season 6 early patch notes
The scent of stale popcorn and anticipation always hangs heavy before a big game update. This time, it’s amplified by the sheer unpredictability of the character joining the fray.
New hero: Deadpool

One of Marvel’s most popular heroes finally joins the roster as the game’s first three-in-one character. Deadpool uses his dual pistols and dual katanas to deal damage as a Duelist, a unicorn plushie to defend allies as a Vanguard, and he can also play as a Strategist, using his pistols and swords to heal teammates.
You can choose which role to play Deadpool as at any given time in-game, but only one Deadpool is available on each team.
Coming soon: Elsa Bloodstone
Why does the anticipation for a new character feel like waiting for Christmas morning?

The monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone will be the next hero to join Marvel Rivals in the season 6.5 update, likely sometime in February.
New map: Museum of Contemplation
Every new map feels like a treasure hunt waiting to happen.
The Collector’s Museum is a new location for the new Convoy map in Marvel Rivals, launching later after the season launch in a new update coming on Jan. 29.
