The locked door loomed, mocking my progress. Hours I’d spent exploring the tangled levels of MIO: Memories in Orbit, only to be stopped by a simple barrier. The words “Silo Access Badge Required” flashed in my mind, the solution to my progress.
Early in MIO: Memories in Orbit, you’ll find many doors that are locked. Some open from the other side; others need special items, such as the Silo Access Badge. Acquiring this badge is more than just opening a door—it’s about gaining a foothold in the game’s economy.
The Silo Access Badge grants access to the Silo, home to a Crystalliser. This device transforms Nacre Droplets into crystals, a form of currency you can use to purchase Modifiers from Mel. These crystals persist even after death, giving you a long-term advantage. The journey to the Silo and Haven (where you find the glide ability) should be a priority. But first, you need the Silo Access Badge. So, how do you get it?
Finding Halyn’s Boudoir
Ever get that feeling of being close to something important, but you just can’t quite grasp it? The Silo Access Badge is like that: near to where you start, yet deceptively out of reach. The badge is located in Halyn’s Boudoir, above Mel’s location to the right of the elevator on L0: Workshop. If you haven’t met Mel yet, the map below marks the exact spot. It’s not far from Shii, who tends the pond just above the Nexus.

The path to the badge is a bit of a trek. Here’s how to reach it:
First, take the elevator to L2: Apartments. Head left, ascending via broken lights and climbing to the next level. Continue left into the icy Dwellings. Keep going left until you reach a locked bronze gate guarded by a robot. Double back slightly to find a fissure in the floor, leading you down a level.
Can you take fall damage in MIO: Memories in Orbit?
No, you cannot. Following the path, you’ll reach the room to the left of where the elevator stops on L1: The Spine. However, the elevator won’t be there. Instead, there will be an open shaft. Jump down—don’t worry, there’s no fall damage in MIO: Memories in Orbit.
This part needs precision.
As you jump down the elevator shaft, position Mio to the right. Jump and move right as soon as the tunnel appears. You’ll land on a ledge with a bed and workshop. The Silo Access Badge, a shiny object, will be on the floor. Pick it up to receive a short description.

What do you do after getting the Silo Access Badge?
With the badge in hand, return to the door near the Nexus Overseer. Fortunately, it’s a short trip. Jump through the window to the right, or drop down to the left, and head back toward the Nexus.
The Silo Access Badge represents more than just entry to a new area; it’s a symbol of progress in a world designed to discourage you at every turn. It’s your willingness to push forward that ultimately counts. Will you continue to explore every corner of MIO: Memories in Orbit?
