In a bold move that has sent ripples through the tech community, the man behind Crypto.com is diving into artificial intelligence, and he’s gone all in.
Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com, has made headlines with the launch of his new AI agent platform, AI.com—a domain he acquired for a staggering $70 million.
This acquisition is touted as the largest domain sale ever, a claim that raises eyebrows considering there may be undisclosed transactions lurking in the shadows. For context, Cars.com has long been regarded as the most valuable domain after a financial assessment revealed it as an intangible asset valued at €872 million.
What can this new platform do? Users will be able to create their own personalized AI agents to handle various tasks—from messaging and project management to stock trading and even updating dating profiles. It’s like having a digital assistant that understands your quirks and needs.
The creators emphasize the security of these agents, saying they will operate within a dedicated environment enhanced by user-specific data encryption.
“AI is at a tipping point, evolving from simple conversations to agents that can truly accomplish tasks for people,” Marszalek stated in a press release. “Our goal is to establish a decentralized network of billions of agents that improve and learn from each other, propelling us closer to AGI.”
The countdown is on; the platform officially launches this Sunday—just after a highly anticipated Super Bowl commercial.
Holding dual leadership positions, Marszalek will oversee both Crypto.com and AI.com—each a titan in its respective field.
As reported by The Financial Times, AI.com was sold for €66 million, after initially being listed at €92 million by GetYourDomain.com back in March 2025.
Since its inception in 2016, originally as Monaco, Crypto.com has grown from a mere concept to one of the largest crypto exchanges globally, boasting over 150 million users. Now, Marszalek’s sights are firmly set on conquering the AI landscape.
“When we launched Crypto.com, the landscape was littered with exchanges, yet we found our way,” he reflected to The Financial Times. “We will make this [AI.com] a success, one way or another.”
Marszalek finds it intriguing that one individual can hold significant domains representing such crucial technological arenas.
He has already caught the attention of potential buyers for AI.com, yet he believes this platform will solidify brand trust and awareness among its users.
Known for ambitious marketing tactics, Crypto.com rebranded the Staples Center to “Crypto.com Arena” in a groundbreaking €645 million agreement.
As we watch the meteoric rise of AI from algorithmic companions to powerful agents, the question lingering in the air is: Are we witnessing the dawn of a bubble, or is this evolution merely the beginning of something much larger?
