The tension in the air was palpable. As Kimbal Musk faced growing scrutiny over his connection to the infamous Jeffrey Epstein, his silence began to speak volumes. But then he broke the silence with a single tweet that sent ripples through social media.
This post is related to the Epstein Files and why my name is in them.
In 2012 I started dating a woman who was 30 years old. I met her through a friend. Epstein did not introduce us. My only meeting with that demon was in his New York office during the day. I never met with him…— 𝙺𝚒𝚖𝚋𝚊𝚕 𝙼𝚞𝚜𝚔 (@kimbal) February 9, 2026
Kimbal Musk isn’t just any name; he’s entwined with Tesla and SpaceX, the younger brother of Elon Musk. However, his recent mentions in the Epstein files have raised eyebrows. The documents suggest a deeper connection than mere coincidence, revealing that Epstein had some knowledge of Musk’s personal life. It’s a narrative that begs for closer examination.
According to Musk’s clarification via his X post, those interested might be surprised to learn some details.
- The woman Musk dated back in 2012 was 30, as he emphasized, and he insists he didn’t meet her through Epstein. Her age is significant; after all, Epstein’s past included crimes with minors, casting shadows on anyone linked with him.
- Despite their brief encounter in New York, the fact remains: Musk met Epstein. And despite the high-profile nature of their worlds, it was a one-off meeting, with Musk adamantly stating he never set foot on Epstein’s island.
- In a twist, Musk revealed that Epstein subscribed to his newsletter back in 2012. “The reason he has so many emails from me is because he was subscribed to a newsletter I sent out to thousands of people,” he clarified.
The curiosity around this newsletter is hard to shake off. If he relied on a conventional email client to reach his thousands of subscribers, that might explain Epstein’s presence in those email chains. Yet, some shadows still linger. Consider this: in the 2012 emails, Musk thanked Epstein and another associate, Boris Nikolic, for connecting him with a mutual acquaintance.
“Great to hang out today.
Jeffrey and Boris, many thanks for connecting me with [name voluntarily redacted by Gizmodo]. I believe you both played a role. :)”
Meanwhile, Nikolic responded with a friendlier caveat:
“Kimbal — just fyi — you better be nice to [name redacted]
Jeffrey goes crazy when someone mistreats his girls/friends. So better be very nice to her.”
To which Musk had his own playful retort:
“Jeffrey: Message received wide and clear.
Seriously, I am very happy with my time so far with [name redacted]. She’s great.”
Even more puzzling is a Google Calendar reminder Epstein had noted for a September event dubbed “kimba musk, birthday four seasons,” timed right after Musk’s birthday. And then there was a subsequent email to Epstein with a detailed schedule, casually reflecting Musk’s activities, marked with his name five times. What could it all mean?
As a prominent figure in Tesla, with a reported net worth of around $700 million (€663 million), Kimbal Musk’s business affiliations have not shielded him from controversy. His departure from the Burning Man board amidst the Epstein revelations signals the potential fallout from these connections. He previously held a board seat at Chipotle before stepping down in 2019.
In a world where reputations can hinge on mere affiliations, the question remains: will Kimbal Musk be able to detach himself from this tangled web, or will the shadows of Epstein continue to follow him?
