Combat Specialty
This feature from BO6 has evolved. Equipping two Perks of the same specialty now gives a hybrid bonus with a third Perk.
Overclocks
Every piece of equipment, Field Upgrade, and Scorestreak can be leveled up to unlock modifiers that enhance their functionality, resembling Pro Perks from previous CoD titles.
Weapon Prestige
Weapon Prestige returns. After maxing out a gun, you can Prestige to reset its rank and earn unique attachments and camos. You can do this twice before reaching Master Prestige, unlocking 250 additional levels and a unique camo.
Specialist Wildcard
The Specialist bonus will be a Wildcard you can include in your BO7 loadout. Earn a new Perk at 200, 400, and 600 points, unlocking all Perks at 1,200 total score streak.
Campaign
Co-op is Back
The entire campaign can be played in co-op mode for up to four players. You step into the shoes of Specter One unit soldiers, including David Mason and Mike Harper. A familiar face from BO6, character Troy Marshall, also appears. Set in 2035, the main villain appears to be The Guild, leveraging AI and robotics for its operations.
A Trippy Story
Footage shows David and his team dealing with hallucinogenic gas, leading to surreal sights like giant machetes falling from the sky and bizarre architecture. Treyarch describes the campaign as filled with “surreal dreamscapes,” posing challenges that keep the characters entrenched in paranoia.
Menendez Lives?
Interestingly, it seems Raul Menendez is back, even after David ended his story in BO2’s canon. This mystery unfolds at the start of the campaign in Avalon.
New Endgame Feature
The campaign culminates in a 32-player map called Endgame in Avalon, featuring “endless sessions.” Players will upgrade operators and level up through high-tier challenges, with progression resetting upon death. This mode can be played cooperatively.
Campaign Camos and XP
Both the campaign and Endgame come with their own camos, including four Mastery camos. XP can be earned across different game modes, ensuring players continuously level up their account or battle pass.
Zombies
New Round-Based Map
The new Zombies map, Ashes of the Dead, is touted as “the biggest round-based map ever.” It introduces a Wonder Vehicle that allows players to navigate between various locations, starting with a site called Farm, with hints of integrating past Zombies locales.
OG Crew Returns
The beloved crew—Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo—makes a comeback in the Dark Aether. This new iteration features characters from different timelines, offering fresh backstories that resonate with longtime fans.
Survival Maps Coming
Segments of the larger RBZ map will transition into Survival maps, which are smaller areas designed for quick play sessions, complete with all necessary Perks and items.
Dead Ops Arcade Returns
The top-down, twin-stick shooter mode is set to return in its fourth iteration, retaining the nostalgic feel many fans adore.
Warzone
Details about Warzone remain under wraps. Upcoming information will likely be unveiled at Call of Duty Next, just ahead of BO7‘s launch. Historically, the battle royale mode integrates new guns, mechanics, and equipment updates as part of the seasonal rollout.
