I snapped on my UV Light and a hallway that had been ordinary seconds before angered into glyphs. You froze, because you know a small mistake and that glowing circle becomes a corpse magnet. I’ll show you how to turn that moment from panic into a routine victory.
You’ll spot odd handwriting on walls and diner booths.
Words of Power are hidden, glowing messages added for the Phasmophobia Alan Wake event, scattered across the event maps that Kinetic Games and Remedy’s crossover repainted for the occasion. They don’t appear with your naked eye; you must reveal them with a UV Light. Think of these clues like breadcrumbs in a fog—small, deliberate, and always leading somewhere.

You’ll be on the shoulder of a road or inside a diner at 3 AM when one appears.
Only four event maps carry these clues: Camp Woodwind (Coffee World), Nell’s Diner (Oh Deer Diner), Bleasdale Farmhouse (Elderwood Palace Lodge), and Grafton Farmhouse (Cauldron Lake). If you want event points, you’re going to visit these places often. The tool that matters is the UV Light—any Tier will do, and Steam players will already know how standard gear cycles work across contracts.
How do I reveal Words of Power in Phasmophobia?
Equip a UV Light, step out of the truck, and sweep every wall and surface until you find yellow arrows painted into the world. Those arrows are directional breadcrumbs; follow them to a bright yellow circle of text, then shine your UV Light directly on the words to register the objective.

You’ll learn to read the arrows before the hunt heats up.
Here’s my straightforward routine:
- Choose one of the event maps. Words of Power spawn only on the four event locations.
- Pack a UV Light. Add one to your loadout before loading into a contract.
- Switch it on immediately. Clues can appear outside the main house, so flip it on as soon as you step out of the truck.
- Find and follow yellow arrows. They point the way; follow them to the words.
- Hit the glowing circle with your UV Light. That registers the objective and awards event progress.
If you’re running on Xbox or PC via Steam, this method is identical; the lighting and physics are handled by Kinetic Games’ engine, so what I teach you works across platforms.
Do Words of Power reset each run?
Yes. Words appear per match rather than permanently on the map, which is why you’ll repeat the process to farm event points. Treat each contract like a fresh scavenger hunt.
You’ll find more than a handful of messages if you sweep every corner.
Across the event maps there are 68 Words of Power total:
- Camp Woodwind (Coffee World): 10
- Nell’s Diner (Oh Deer Diner): 20
- Bleasdale Farmhouse (Elderwood Palace Lodge): 20
- Grafton Farmhouse (Cauldron Lake): 18
That density rewards methodical searching. Treat the arrows like a neon detour sign: annoying when you miss it, priceless when you follow it.
Which maps contain Words of Power?
They’re limited to the four listed event maps—Camp Woodwind, Nell’s Diner, Bleasdale Farmhouse, and Grafton Farmhouse—so if you want event points, those are where you spend your time. I’ve walked these maps enough times to know the pattern: keep the UV on, follow arrows, and don’t rush—what will you try first on your next contract?
