How to Get the New Crafter & Builder Capes in Minecraft

How to Get the New Crafter & Builder Capes in Minecraft

You shoulder past a line of twitching fans, badge glued to a chest that suddenly feels more like a map. I watched a staffer clip an Inventory Ribbon onto a stranger’s lanyard and saw everyone’s posture shift—this is where the hunt starts. The three empty slots on that ribbon feel like a treasure map, and you don’t want to be the person who misses the X.

I’ve been to these live drops before, and I’ll tell you what matters: timing, the right booths, and knowing which streams to watch. Read this as your fast playbook—what to do at TwitchCon, what to watch online, and exactly where to redeem the codes so you don’t lose out.

Outside the TwitchCon hall, badge-wearers trade tips like sports cards — How to Get the New Crafter Cape in Minecraft

You only get the Crafter Cape if you attend TwitchCon Rotterdam during Minecraft Live on May 30 and follow the event flow. I’ll walk you through the simple, event-wide process so you can collect the three Emerald stickers and convert them into something visible in-game.

Get the Inventory Ribbon

When you arrive, head straight to the Swag Bag kiosk near badge and wristband pickup. A Minecraft staffer will attach an Inventory Ribbon to your event badge — it has three empty sticker slots. Hold onto that ribbon like it’s your festival wristband; losing it means losing progress.

Collect Emerald Stickers

Fill the ribbon by attending qualifying Minecraft sessions or visiting the themed activities around the venue. Each unique session or activity gives one Emerald sticker — repeat the same session and you won’t get extra stickers. Combine sessions and activities to reach the three-sticker target.

Day of the Weekend Minecraft Sessions
Saturday -> The Midoffs LIVE by Tubbo (Minecraft Arena)
-> Skyblock Kingdoms SMP – Minecraft in the Sky! (NomNom Theatre)
-> Crafting a Character (NomNom Theatre)
-> The Symbiotic Relationship of Artists and Creators (NomNom Theatre)
-> The Non-Competitive Competitive Format of Minecraft Events (NomNom Theatre)
-> Minecraft LIVE (Twitch Rivals Arena)
Sunday -> Bannerfall SMP: A Clash Between Kingdoms (NomNom Theatre)
-> Couriway’s 10,000th Speedrun Live (Minecraft Arena)
-> Lifesteal SMP: Inside Minecraft’s Deadliest Server (Glitch Theatre)
-> Gridlock: The Next Step in Minecraft Esports (Minecraft Arena)
-> The Minecraft Gauntlet (Glitch Theatre)

Activities that qualify for Emerald stickers include:

  • The Sulfur Slide
  • Be the Chicken Jockey
  • Game Over Photo Op
  • Dungeons 2 Note Block Challenge
  • Dungeons 1 Gameplay
  • Chicken Farm Gameplay

Redeem the Minecraft Crafter Cape

Once the ribbon has all three stickers, bring it to the Cape Trader inside the Minecraft Village. Staff will verify the ribbon and scan your wristband. You’ll receive a Cape Card with a 25-character redemption code.

Redeem that code on the official Minecraft redemption page before the deadline, and the Crafter Cape appears in your dressing room. Note: each player can claim one cape, but Mojang is not limiting the total number distributed.

Is the Crafter Cape free in Minecraft?

Yes. The Crafter Cape is free — you just need to be onsite at TwitchCon Rotterdam and complete the set of activities that award Emerald stickers. The only costs are travel and your ticket to the event (if applicable).

In the livestream chat, emotes explode every few seconds — How to Get the New Builder Cape in Minecraft

If you can’t make Rotterdam, Mojang has created a way for the online audience to participate. I’ll show you where to watch and what to watch so you don’t miss the Builder Cape reveal.

When does the Builder Cape become available?

The Builder Cape details will be released during Minecraft Live on May 30. Watch the official Minecraft channels on YouTube and Twitch — Mojang and selected creators will explain the steps live and distribute codes or task instructions.

How to prepare and what to watch

Set reminders on the Minecraft YouTube channel and follow Twitch streams from creators like Tubbo, Couriway, and other partners who may run sponsored watch parties or in-stream tasks. You might need to complete short online tasks, follow a creator, redeem a stream code, or enter a giveaway. The process is usually fast: watch, act, redeem.

Think of the ribbon and streams together as a festival toolkit — the ribbon becomes a Swiss Army knife of festival rewards: physical presence grants one path, livestream attention grants another.

Can players get both the Minecraft Crafter and Builder Cape?

Yes. The two capes use separate methods: the Crafter Cape requires TwitchCon attendance and Emerald stickers; the Builder Cape is for the online audience via Minecraft Live streams. If you attend TwitchCon and follow the livestream steps, you can claim both.

Mojang, Twitch, and the Minecraft community have done these drops before — the trick is to treat the event like a schedule you want to run. I recommend syncing your calendar with Minecraft Live, bookmarking the redemption page, and keeping your Cape Card code safe the moment you get it.

If you want to reduce risk: sync your device to the Minecraft Live stream, know where the Cape Trader is at the event, and save your 25-character code immediately. I’ll be watching the Twitch chat with you—will the Builder Cape be the one people chase harder, or does Crafter stay king of the swag debate?
