I thought I had the clearing mapped—then the moon slid behind the waterfall and every landmark went soft. You freeze, because two shrines need offerings and the map in your head just lost its ink. I stayed, hunted, and came back with the exact spots so you don’t waste time wandering.
Gather some offerings in the clearing in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The clearing sits under a curtain of spray and shadow; paths vanish where the light dies. The clearing is a pocket watch of shadows. You need three different offerings, and each one must be collected three times to move the Moonlighting as a Hero quest forward: Greek Clay, Greek Flowers, and Sylvan Wood. I’ll walk you through where they hide, which tool to bring, and what to expect when the valley is as dark as a closed book.

Where are the offerings in the clearing?
If you’ve played on Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox, or Epic Games Store, you know the clearing’s layout varies with light and camera angle. Start at the big waterfall in the center; that pond and its immediate banks are the hunting ground. I found most of the spawn points clustered around the water or near the stone pillars guarding the entrance to the area.
Greek Clay — small, brown mud circles that glint near the pond
Brown, sparkling mud patches sit close to the waterline and behind low rocks. The clay patches are brown coins in the mud. Equip your Royal Shovel and dig each glittering spot to collect one piece of Greek Clay. You need three total, and in my run all three were clustered under the waterfall and along the pond edge—so sweep that semicircle before branching out.
How do you get Greek Clay in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Use the Royal Shovel on the brown, shimmering mud spots. If a spot doesn’t appear, reload the area or wait a few minutes—spawns can be fickle. Moyens I/O’s screenshots are a solid reference if you want visual confirmation before committing to a search path.

Greek Flowers — bundles of three unique Eternal Poppies
Clusters of bright blooms puncture the gloom: Crimson, Teal, and Fuchsia Eternal Poppies grouped as a bundle. These flower bundles are usually tucked against rock faces or near landmark pillars. I picked one next to the left side of the waterfall, another near the large stone pillar by the entrance (also a Muse Vase Piece spawn nearby), and the last by the pedestal where Phil first appears.
Collect three bundles total. If you play with speed, scan pillar bases and the pond’s perimeter first—the flowers prefer edges and ledges where the engine avoids heavy foliage rendering.
Sylvan Wood — tree stumps hiding usable timber
Stumps in the undergrowth hide the third offering; the trunks aren’t tall, just pocked nubs in the dirt. Use the Royal Shovel on those stumps to extract Sylvan Wood. I found two stumps in the woods to the left of the waterfall and another near the stone pillar by the entrance. They’re small, so watch for them tucked behind rocks and ferns.
How many offerings do I need to finish this stage?
You need three of each offering: nine items total to satisfy the clearing portion of the Moonlighting as a Hero quest. After you hand them in, the Valley’s quest chain progresses toward recruiting Hercules and Phil as villagers—so every shovel strike matters.
After this scavenger hunt, you’ll still face the Speedrun Crash Course, Thunderstruck, and A Real Godly Mess quests if you want to bring the duo home to your village. I’ve guided players across platforms—from Switch to Steam—and the pattern repeats: find the clusters, lean on the Royal Shovel, and prioritize the pond-and-pillar sweep. Which offering will you chase first?
