Takarada vs Speedwagon: The Ultimate Anime Vanguard Battle

Takarada vs Speedwagon: The Ultimate Anime Vanguard Battle

For a long time, Speedwagon (Sprintwagon) was the only money unit in Anime Vanguards, so there were no issues with whether to use him. But with the addition of Takarada (Takaroda), you may wonder if you should use Takarada or Speedwagon in Anime Vanguards.

Should I choose Sprintwagon or Takaroda in Anime Vanguards?

You should use Sprintwagon more often than Takaroda in Anime Vanguards. This decision mainly depends on the mode you’re playing and the number of waves. Using farm units is about knowing when you can count on the return on investment (ROI).

Sometimes, it’s not even a good idea to max them as you don’t have enough time to get the money back. Take a break from destroying opponents to learn which money unit is more profitable: Speedwagon or Takaroda. While discussing money and rewards, make sure to redeem Anime Vanguards codes often.

When to use Sprintwagon

You should use Sprintwagon (Speedwagon) in all short matches, as he’ll return your investment faster than Takaroda. That’s especially true for Story mode, where you don’t need more money than what Sprintwagon will give you in 15 waves. He’s also very useful in longer matches (20+ waves).

Upgrade Cost Yen per wave ROI (waves)
Placement 550 250 2.2
Upgrade 1 1050 550 3.5
Upgrade 2 1800 1050 3.6
Upgrade 3 2550 1800 3.4
Upgrade 4 3050 2550 4

When to use Takaroda

Takaroda is best used in Paragon, Infinite, and Boss modes, mainly because they are longer (Boss mode has 30 waves). While Takarada earns more money per wave, he’s also more expensive to upgrade. If you look at the table below, you’d think you’ll get money faster with Takaroda. But consider that you need Yen for upgrades; in some modes, you’ll waste too many turns to earn enough money to upgrade him.

Investing everything in the economy will leave you defenseless, which is especially problematic against faster units. When you upgrade Takaroda, you can place several Sprintwagons and earn enough money for attack units.

Upgrade Cost Yen per wave ROI (waves)
Placement 800 250 3.2
Upgrade 1 1500 750 3
Upgrade 2 3000 1500 4
Upgrade 3 4500 3000 3
Upgrade 4 7500 5000 3.75
Upgrade 5 10000 8000 3.3
Upgrade 6 12500 10000 6.25

Should I use both Takaroda and Speedwagon in Anime Vanguards?

Using both Speedwagon and Takaroda is redundant as you don’t necessarily need two farm units. In most cases, choosing one is the best way to go unless there’s a specific battle where you must often move units (sell and upgrade to max), for which you need a lot of Yen.

Another important thing to consider is that using two farm units leaves you with fewer slots for attack units. While that may not be an issue if you have six unlocked slots, you’ll seldom have a real need for both.
