The lantern in my hand wobbled as I crept up Point Hope’s third-floor stairs. A single music box note cut the room in half; the mirror leaned where shadows liked to gather. You need to know every possible spawn so you don’t walk into the wrong silence.
I tested the Restricted layout on Steam and cross-checked notes with players on Discord and Twitch while Kinetic Games pushed the August 25, 2026 update. Phasmophobia currently runs $14.99 (€14) on Steam, and the map change trims two floors from the original lighthouse — which changed where Cursed Possessions appear.
You can see the map shrink when you load Point Hope Restricted — the layout truncates near the top. All seven Cursed Possessions now sit across just three floors, and the spawn logic moved items closer together.
There are seven Cursed Possessions on Point Hope Restricted, but standard contracts spawn only one at a time. If you run a custom match or a weekly challenge, you may see more — which is why I always sweep every possible spot when I start a round.

- Tarot Cards: On the same table as the Monkey Paw.
- Voodoo Doll: Sitting on a brown basket by the stairs in the living room.

- Haunted Mirror: On the ground leaning up against a cabinet in the dining room.

Where do Cursed Possessions spawn on Point Hope Restricted?
I mapped every guaranteed spawn. You can find three items on the first floor (living room), one on the second (kitchen), and three clustered on the third (dining room). Use the floorplan images above or pin these locations to your own screenshots before you enter a match.
How many Cursed Objects can appear in a standard match?
In regular contracts you’ll encounter a single Cursed Possession. Custom matches and weekly rotation modes can throw multiple items on the floor — which is when the map starts to feel like a pocket watch, its gears exposed.
How do I identify which Cursed Object is active?
Go check every spawn location. The fastest method is a clockwise sweep from the front door: living room, upstairs kitchen, then dining room. I also run a quick record on YouTube or a Twitch clip if the team needs proof for a challenge.
Near the green sofas, the small end table sits within arm’s reach. Point Hope Restricted’s Monkey Paw spawns on that end table between the two dark green couches in the living room on the first floor.
Enter the house, follow the hallway, then turn right into the living room. The table by the wall between the couches holds the Monkey Paw — check it first if you want the quickest confirmation.
If you glance at that same living room table, the Tarot Cards will sometimes be there too. The Tarot Cards spawn on the same small end table as the Monkey Paw, between the two green couches on the first floor.
This item didn’t move from the full Point Hope — so if you’ve memorized the old map, this one should be instant muscle memory.
By the stairs, a wicker basket sits against the wall. The Voodoo Doll sits on a brown basket next to the living room stairs on the first floor.
From the entry, turn right and walk past the couch area. Check the stairs’ base — the doll perches on a wicker basket and often gets missed when players rush the center table.
The kitchen floor has visible appliance shadows near the sink. The Summoning Circle is drawn on the ground in the kitchen on the second floor.
Climb the living room stairs to the kitchen. Move to the back area by the fridge and oven, then look down near the sink to spot the circle. It’s the only Cursed Object on that level.
A blue chair hides small details along the back wall. The Ouija Board sits on the ground underneath a blue seat in the dining room on the third floor.
Once you reach the third floor, head to the back wall. Find the shelf with plates — the dark blue seat beneath it usually has the Ouija Board on the floor beneath.
The dining room’s right side often has leaning décor against the wall. The Haunted Mirror leans up against a blue cupboard in the dining room on the third floor.
If you’ve played the full Point Hope, this is the familiar spot. From the top of the stairs, move to the right side of the dining table and scan the wall behind it to find the mirror propped against a cabinet.
The stair landing drops you right beside a long table. The Music Box sits on a table next to the stairs in the dining room on the third floor.
When you step up to the top floor, glance left immediately — the music box rests on the long dark table by the stairs. It’s an easy check while you sweep the room.
One last tip from my runs: sprint through the first-floor living room on your first pass, then slow your approach upstairs. The spawns on Point Hope Restricted are tight enough that a focused sweep finds most items in under a minute, and those spawn points are a scatter of breadcrumbs if you train your eye to follow them.
