Blood of Dawnwalker Court: All Infamy Edicts & Effects

Blood of Dawnwalker Court: All Infamy Edicts & Effects

You duck into a shadowed alley as a patrol sweeps past the market. I’ve had merchants lock their shutters the moment Coen’s face shows up on a wanted banner. That small, silent moment tells you everything about how the court system reshapes The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Guards stand where order matters. All Infamy Edicts in The Blood of Dawnwalker

I’ll walk you through every Edict Brencis can hand down as your infamy rises, why each one changes the valley’s rhythm, and what that means for the playstyle you choose. You’ll see how a few reputation points can tilt daily life—sometimes like a rising tide, sometimes like a tightening vise—and why the game’s difficulty curve is as much political as it is mechanical.

1 You’ll find more patrols in the areas Coen visits to complete the quests. Naturally, this raises the difficulty when it comes to finishing these tasks.
2 Military checkpoints will pop up all over the valley. While most of them won’t identify you (Coen), you should still be mindful of your activities around them.
3 Prices of all items in the valley will rise. In simple words, everything you by from merchants is going to cost more, creating hindrances on certain occasions.
4 This is when things will get more serious. Not only will you find more soldiers patrolling the streets, but commanders will also recognize Coen when they spot him.
5 You’ll find fewer people outdoor between the dusk and dawn. This also includes merchants, which will make quests harder to complete if you’re missing certain items.
6 You’ll now encounter even more checkpoints, and the commanders will identify you. The prices of items will be increased for the second time, making everything expensive.
7 You’ll need to deal with Headhunters. These are elite enemies that have special abilities. Moreover, every soldier can now recognize you and they will try to stop you immediately.
8 All soldiers not only recognize you, but they will be harder to take down. They will have increased stats and attack.
9 Svartrau’s gates will now remain shut, but this is a bigger problem only on paper. You’ll have different ways to enter the city by now, but movement will be hard with the harder soldiers, checkpoints, and elite enemies at place.

What triggers an Infamy Edict?

Every Edict is a reaction. When you complete certain quests, assassination attempts, or high-profile actions in front of witnesses, Brencis’ court files a case and your infamy ticks upward. I track these patterns the same way analysts study patch notes on Steam or threads on Reddit—by isolating cause and effect. If you’re moving through Svartrau lowering barriers and making noise, expect one of these nine measures to appear before long.

How do Edicts change merchants’ prices?

The court’s economic punishments are blunt: Edict 3 raises prices, and Edict 6 hikes them a second time. That can mean an extra 5 USD (€5) for a standard potion, and those costs compound when you’re buying multiple supplies. For players on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC via Steam, the practical result is the same—resource scarcity makes planning and route choice more meaningful.

Can you reverse Infamy levels?

You can reduce suspicion, but you won’t erase history overnight. Some quests and choices let you bargain, bribe, or perform acts that lower visible infamy, and certain NPCs act as soft reset points. Rebel Wolves designed Edicts to be a persistent pressure, not a hard stop—so think of them as a changing weather pattern rather than a one-time trap.

When towns empty, the map changes. How to survive the highest Infamy

At higher levels you’ll face Headhunters, commanders who recognize Coen, and checkpoints that feel personal. I recommend three practical habits: avoid open confrontation when possible, pre-stock at neutral vendors before price jumps, and treat checkpoints like checkpoints in a stealth game—study patrol routes and use side entrances. Tools like community maps on Steam Workshop and Discord channels often show safe routes and merchant locations shared by other players.

Playing with high infamy is a different game loop: progression isn’t just about gear but about managing attention. You’ll be stronger by endgame, but the court’s pressure changes the playbook. Do you prefer to weather the storm and take the valley head-on, or play the long game and bend the court to your favor?
