I hit the deck with two seconds left on the timer and watched a steel bird sweep the plaza. My squad’s chatter went from confident to quiet in a heartbeat. You either get the cargo out, or you spend the next match wondering what went wrong.
Arc Raiders Frigate Map Condition Explained
During a run the Frigate reads like an event that arrives and rearranges every plan you had.
The new Frigate condition drops a massive flying Arc that rains destruction on anything below and forces teams to board and sabotage it if they want the richest haul. It triggers on any map, so you can face it in Pendola Pass or any other drop zone. When the Frigate is active the map applies a short set of changes you must adjust to:
- No active locked doors
- Lower total loot value across the ground spawns
- No active Raider Hatches
- No Free Loadout — you must bring your own gear

That no-free-loadout rule changes behavior: players can’t just camp with a free shotgun and wait. You must arrive prepared or you’ll be outgunned when the Arc swarms drop.
How to Prepare for Frigate in Arc Raiders
On every successful run I watched, a small checklist decided whether the team lived or bled out.
Bring one heavy weapon and a secondary with either Energy or Launcher ammo. Heavy Arc-penetration is the currency of success: you’ll be breaking Power Cores and punching through flying Arc shields. A Bettina performs well across PvP and PvE, and I’ve seen squads win matches around a skilled Bettina holder. A Bettina in your hands is a scalpel against Arc shields.
I run tests with friends from Discord and pull clips from Twitch and Steam discussion threads to refine loadouts; community footage helps you see where PvP tends to erupt.
Suggested loadout (adapt by lobby type):
- 1x Bettina (or other heavy weapon)
- 1x Hullcracker or 1x Jupiter (Launcher/Energy)
- 1x Looting MK3 Survivor (extra slots)
- 1x Medium Shield
- 2 stacks Herbal Bandages
- 1 stack Vita Shot or Sterilized Bandage
- 3 stacks Shield Recharger (two small, one medium)
- 2x Wolf Packs or 2 stacks Trigger Nade
- 3x Barriers
- 2x Defibrillator
- 1x Snaphook
- Heavy ammo and Launcher/Energy ammo filling remaining slots
If your lobby screams PvP, swap for stronger PvP weapons and carry mines. Use a balanced skill tree that buffs survivability and penetration to tilt small skirmishes in your favor.
How do you board the Frigate in Arc Raiders?
The boarding window is short and noisy; wait too long and arcs make the climb impossible.
Small Arc Reclaimers shuttle between ground and Frigate. Track one as it descends, hop on, and choose the Disrupt option when it appears. Disrupt launches you directly to the Frigate interior. The boarding sequence is a tightrope walk across the sky — timing and crowd control matter as much as raw firepower.

Arc Raiders Frigate Puzzle Guide
Most players rush the top and miss half the wiring — the ship is a puzzle made for teams that talk.
Once aboard you must destroy a series of Power Cores to access the final cargo. The Frigate hands out arcs, Hydras, and tight corridors where crowd control and position win fights. Communicate who hits which core and assign one player to manage barriers and heals while the other two poke and break coils.
Where are all the power cores on the Frigate?
Power cores hide in predictable pockets; the trick is getting to them without being shredded mid-climb.
Power Core Location 1:
- After boarding, push forward until you find a panel with a Move Up button. Ignore that button for now, circle to the far end and you’ll spot the first core tucked to the side. Shoot it out of its housing.

Power Core Location 2:
- Return to the button area. Use a Snaphook to reach the upper platform, or have two players press side buttons to lift one teammate. That player interacts with the control to raise a coil; you then enter the coil chamber and hit three buttons to lift the main coil.

Power Core Location 3:
- Before you open the main coil you’ll find two small coils above—scan the ceiling on either side and clear them quickly; they’re often guarded by arcs.

Power Core Location 4:
- After handling the main coil and upper coils, get to the ledge above. Use Snaphook or destroy yellow wall buttons to open climb paths. Breach the containers there to expose the core.

Power Core Location 5:
- Climb to the very top and clear the exposed cores. Place barriers and kite arcs; the high ground is fragile but rewarding.

Power Core Location 6:
- Enter the inner hull, smash yellow panels to open rooms, and search locked chambers. Cores are usually behind breach doors—clear them room by room until you reach the cargo bay at the very bottom.

Drop Cargo and Leave Frigate in Arc Raiders
Every run that ended clean always had one player assigned to the drop sequence before anyone else stepped out.
At cargo, breach the four sides of the container, then coordinate the two interact buttons on each side. Hold the button rhythm with your teammate(s) until the cargo falls. Jump on the falling pallet, ride it down, and sprint to extraction with barriers and heals at the ready. Once on the ground you can open the pallet and pick high-value items that beat normal map spawns.
All Arc Raiders Frigate Rewards
Loot value shifts when the Frigate is active; the best returns come from the cargo and the locked rooms you open on the way.
The consistent drops are crafting and progression materials that matter to any player pushing builds:
- Amplification Modules (weapon mods)
- Research items (convertible for research points at Outposts)
Epic and legendary drops appear, and blueprints have been reported but remain rare. For ongoing drop reports, check Steam threads, the Arc Raiders subreddit, and YouTube creators who upload chest-by-chest runs — those clips show how containers spawn on different maps.
What loot does the Frigate drop?
Most containers yield industrial parts and research fragments; Amplification Modules are the primary reason most squads risk the Frigate. Expect fewer common loadout drops on the ground because the event reduces map-wide loot value, but the cargo pallet compensates with concentrated rewards.
If you could rewrite one Frigate rule to favor solo players or squads, which change would break the meta and make runs more interesting?
