Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2: Clampdown Quest — Get King’s Gear

Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2: Clampdown Quest — Get King's Gear

The guard’s voice over the intercom turned my evening into an emergency. I walked into Night City Prison with a duffle bag and walked out with King’s revolver strapped to my hip. By the time Meshuga patched in, I already knew this would stain my save file.

I’m the sort of player who reads quest logs the same way other people read contracts. You want King’s gear and you want it without wasting time — I’ll show you the exact triggers, choices, and fight tips so you get out with the revolver and outfit intact.

There’s a BuryGer joint in Arroyo that smells of burnt coffee and adrenaline — How to start Edgerunners 2 Clampdown in Cyberpunk 2077

You need two things before Wakako sends the ping that begins Clampdown:

  • You must have finished The Heist (the Act 1 mission with Jackie).
  • You must have completed at least two Wakako Okada gigs.

If Wakako doesn’t text, don’t panic: sleep for a few in-game days or wander off doing gigs in the city until she pings. When she does, she’ll point you to the BuryGer in Arroyo — that’s where King waits and the story starts.

How do I start the Clampdown quest?

Answer: finish The Heist, do two Wakako gigs, then reply to Wakako’s text. She sends the meet location at BuryGer; meet King and accept the job to be escorted into the prison scenario where Meshuga takes over your cyber-ops.

A fluorescent corridor smells of disinfectant and old coffee — Prison-break Walkthrough (step-by-step)

Walks here are short and sharp: you’ll be arrested at the visitor gate, beaten, and tossed into a cell. Wex is your first micro-story contact; he explains the Reaper Chips and the stakes.

How do I get past the cell block cameras?

Meshuga patches in and asks you to hack the camera outside your cell. Use Camera Control to pause the feed on Camera 117 (Security Cortex) and Remote Deactivation to open the doors. If your Cyberdeck is light on RAM, bring a companion Quickhack or swap to a deck with more slotted RAM via the Cyberdeck menu.

Once outside, find the duffle bag in the locker room for King’s kit: Coronation Tech Revolver and his outfit. You’ll want to pick fights with guards to grab an access badge and reach the Security Cortex room.

The server room smelled of copper and cold metal — Deactivate Reaper Chips and pick your moral beat

At the tall server tower you jack into, you get three Deactivate options. My recommendation: deactivate your own Reaper first, then Miguel’s, and decide Wex last. Wex’s fate is a one-way street in either choice; he won’t reappear later.

  • Deactivate Your Reaper — choose this first to stop your immediate kill signal.
  • Deactivate Miguel’s Reaper — choose second to save the merc you broke in for.
  • Deactivate Wex’s Reaper — optional; if you do, he rides the riots out.

Once chips are handled you’ll fetch weapons from the armory. Take everything that fits your build — shotguns and machine guns are plentiful — and prepare for the Crisis Control Room.

The yard was a pressure cooker waiting for a spark — Cause the riot or let Meshuga flip the switch

The two choices at the Crisis Control terminal are brutal and narratively meaningful:

  • Meshuga’s choice (Activate) — kills prisoners to clear a path; King approves begrudgingly but there’s no extra reward.
  • King’s choice (Deactivate) — starts a riot; you fight through prisoners and King respects you more. Reward is identical regardless.

The basketball court smells of smoke and hot metal — Boss fight: Darius Bale

Darius is a mecha that punished you at intake; he’s tougher the first time you see him than most minibosses. Aim for the glowing red node on his suit, dodge his lasers, and use cover when the explosives come. Pop a Bounce Back or a MaxDoc when low and keep moving; stationary fights make the mech’s rockets trivial to hit.

After Darius drops, loot his body for chips, mods, and cash. Plant a mine on the morgue mesh wall, detonate, and drive away. Call your car, lose the four-star NCPD heat, and wait for Meshuga’s call — he’ll clean your records.

What rewards do you get from the Clampdown quest?

Short answer: no cash payout. What you get is gear and cosmetics themed after King — and the Coronation revolver is a usable Tech weapon that feels mean on the trigger.

Item Item Type
Coronation Tech Revolver Weapon
King’s Glasses Head
King’s Coat Upper Body (Outer)
King’s Bulletproof Vest Upper Body (Inner)
King’s Pants Lower Body (Legs)
Icon America Dust Devil Utility Boots Lower Body (Feet)

King’s coat hangs on you like armor; it isn’t just style, it reads as a story badge in Night City. The Coronation revolver scales with Tech mods — if you like headshots, invest in breach or overpenetration mods from Ripperdocs or drop into GOG/Steam vendor menus after the mission.

The street outside the prison smelled of diesel and second chances — Aftermath and notes

Meshuga clears your records, King calls, and you finish the Clampdown quest with the kit to prove you were there. The quest ties directly to the Edgerunners 2 anime on Netflix and came from CD Projekt RED as part of the 2.5 update; it’s a neat cross-promo that actually plays like a short standalone heist mission.

If you care about trophies or achievements, save before the server choices if you want to experiment with Meshuga’s darker option; both outputs give the same rewards but different tonal beats. Use a high-RAM Cyberdeck, bring crowd-control weapons for the riot, and keep at least one slot for a melee weapon — you’ll need it in tight corridors.
