Pokopia Dazzling Decorations Update: Release Date & All New Features

I was scrolling through a thread of Ditto screenshots when a sudden pattern hit me: bows, shades, and tiny hats everywhere. I smiled, because this update is a wardrobe for your Ditto. You and I are about to map exactly when it lands and what it adds to your roster.

I noticed players refreshing the eShop timestamp, and the question kept popping up: when does this drop?

When will the Pokopia Dazzling Decorations update release?

The Dazzling Decorations update arrives on Dec. 9. It’s part two of Pokopia’s expansion pass, so if you already bought the expansion pass you’ll receive it automatically. If you haven’t, you’ll need to purchase the paid add-on (the expansion pass typically runs about $19.99 USD (€18) on the Nintendo eShop) to access these features.

There’s no official minute-by-minute timestamp from the developer, and Nintendo releases often roll out at 9 a.m. JST, so expect regional timing to mirror that pattern unless the team says otherwise. Keep an eye on the Nintendo eShop, The Pokémon Company socials, and Moyens I/O’s feed for the exact go-live moment.

Do I need to buy the expansion pass to get this content?

Short answer: yes. Dazzling Decorations is gated behind the expansion pass. If you purchased the pass when Bubbly Basin launched, this is already in your library. If not, the content will not appear in your base game files.

Walking through Twitter and Reddit, I counted screenshots of Pokémon wearing accessories and realized this update isn’t cosmetic fluff.

What new features does Dazzling Decorations add?

The core of Dazzling Decorations is a fresh customization system that lets you dress your Ditto, your avatar, and Pokémon in a broad range of new accessories. Think bows, sunglasses, and color options that give each creature personality. Customization turns your team into a parade float.

  • Accessories galore: New bows, shades, and varied shapes and colors for both your avatar and Pokémon. This is a new gameplay-facing system, not just a menu of vanity items.
  • New Pokémon: Several species have been teased, including Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen. Expect more reveals before launch via The Pokémon Company channels and Pokopia’s official accounts.
  • No new town this part: Unlike Bubbly Basin in part one, Dazzling Decorations focuses on mechanics and companions. Part three will return with another location addition.

If you’re still grinding in Bubbly Basin, I’d recommend finishing recipes, hunting Portal Pods, building Bubbly Basin habitats, and tracking Dolls and Dream Islands so you can turn all that progress into fashion statements when the update lands.

I’ll be watching The Pokémon Company and Nintendo Switch channels for patch notes and exact timestamps; you should too if timing matters. Want to bet which accessory will become the community’s favorite first?
