An actor who’s starring in the 2nd season of “Squid Games 2” is drawing intense criticisms for a past sexual assault accusation.
Lee Jin-wook, an actor who’s starring in the 2nd season of Netflix’s “Squid Games”, has become a hot topic in international SNS platforms for a horrific reason – being accused of rape in the past.
In particular, an SNS post, which has now attracted over 1.3 million views and 12 thousand likes, pointed out that Lee Jin-wook was sued for rape back in 2016.
At the time, the case was ruled in favor of Lee Jin-wook due to South Korea’s legal viewpoint that lack of consent does not constitute rape. However, Lee Jin-wook’s side never refuted the lack of consent, and even the court admitted that the actor neither asked for the woman’s agreement nor she gave him consent.
Additionally, Lee Jin-wook has sued the woman for defamation twice, with a judge finding the woman not guilty as it was stated that consent wasn’t given, adding that the woman never sued with the intent of receiving money from Lee Jin-wook. Meanwhile, another judge ruled the woman to be guilty due to lack of evidence.
Netizens who learned of this accusation were horrified, especially as Lee Jin-wook was revealed to be a close friend of BTS’s RM. The two even met privately with RM posting photos with Lee Jin-wook on his Instagram story.
They are also calling for a boycott of any work with Lee Jin-wook’s appearance.
