According to the music industry on September 24th, the NewJeans members, along with their parents, had a meeting with the new CEO of ADOR, Ju Young Kim on the afternoon of the 23rd. This meeting occurred 12 days after the members had expressed their concerns through a live broadcast.
Previously, on September 11, the NewJeans members launched a YouTube channel called “nwjins” and held an emergency live broadcast titled “What NewJeans Wants to Say.” During the 30-minute broadcast, the five members voiced their grievances about the unfair and unreasonable situations they had experienced before and after conflicts with HYBE and former CEO Min Hee-jin.
In particular, member Hanni pointed out the mistreatment she received from a manager of another artist within the HYBE building and criticized CEO Ju Young Kim’s lukewarm response, expressing concerns about similar incidents happening again in the future.
Additionally, the members addressed the conflict between Shin Woo-seok, the director who had produced NewJeans’ music videos, and the new management of ADOR. They stated, “What we want is the original ADOR, where management and production were integrated under former CEO Min Hee-jin,” and requested a wise decision to restore ADOR by September 25.
It is reported that during the meeting, held just two days before their requested deadline, the NewJeans members reiterated their demands to CEO Ju Young Kim. In response, Kim reportedly discussed ADOR’s policies, which were outlined during his appointment.
The outcome of the meeting between the NewJeans members and CEO Ju Young Kim remains to be seen, as the situation continues to develop.
