On October 13, actor Park Seo-joon mentioned director Bong Joon-ho’s film “Parasite” on the YouTube channel “Fairy Jaehyung”.
When asked about how he chooses his roles, Park Seo-joon said, “Of course, it has to be fun. I also look for characters that I think I can portray well, and ones that show a new side of me without overlapping with previous roles.”
Park Seo-joon, who recently appeared in “Gyeongseong Creature” Season 2, shared his current concerns, “I’m at an awkward age for choosing roles. Going for a younger character doesn’t seem to suit me anymore, but moving into roles for men in their 40s feels a bit too soon. There are plenty of men my age who are married, but I want to navigate this phase well. When you take on a role, you’re committing a year to it, so I wonder how to spend that year wisely.”
Park Seo-joon also discussed his close friendship with Choi Woo-sik, with whom he has appeared in various projects, including “Jinny’s Kitchen”, “Fight For My Way”, “Parasite” and “Family”.
He humorously shared a casting anecdote, “Choi Woo-sik helped me with ‘Fight For My Way’. As for ‘Parasite’, Director Bong Joon-ho asked Woo-sik, ‘Who’s the one person in the world you’d most want to trample on?’ Woo-sik replied ‘Park Seo-joon’ as a joke, of course.” This led Jung Jae-hyung to chime in with a playful comment “For me, the person I most want to trample on is Lee Juck“, which sparked laughter.
