Lovely Runner Continues Reign as #1 Drama, The Atypical Family Climbs to #2

According to the results of the TV-OTT drama topicality survey for the third week of May released by Good Data Corporation, a K-content online competitiveness analysis agency, tvN’s “Lovely Runner” ranked first for 3 consecutive weeks.

Although the drama’s upward trend has halted, it continues to dominate 4 categories that constitute topicality: news, VON (Voice Of Netizen), video and social media.

JTBC’s “The Atypical Family” secured second place, with its topicality increasing by 12.8% compared to the previous week.

Netflix’s new work “The 8 Show” took third place, ranking second in the VON (Voice Of Netizen) category. Netizens have posted diverse and complex evaluations of the work.

Fourth and fifth places went to tvN’s “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” and MBC’s “Chief Detective 1958”, respectively. Both works saw an increase in topicality compared to the previous week. Notably, “Chief Detective 1958” concluded with a 19.5% increase.

Disney+’s “Uncle Samsik” landed in sixth place, while JTBC’s “Frankly Speaking” and KBS2’s “Beauty and Mr. Romantic” took seventh and eighth, respectively. The drama “The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection” concluded with a 52.3% increase in topicality, ranking ninth. Lastly, ENA’s “Crash” secured the tenth spot.

In terms of drama cast topicality, Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon from “Lovely Runner” maintained the top two spots for 3 consecutive weeks. Positions three to five were taken by Chun Woo-hee from “The Atypical Family”, Jung Ryeo-won from “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” and Jang Ki-yong from “The Atypical Family”.

Ranking sixth to tenth were Wi Ha-joon from “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon”, Song Geon-hee from “Lovely Runner”, Go Kyung-pyo from “Frankly Speaking”, Lee Je-hoon from “Chief Detective 1958” and Song Kang-ho from “Uncle Samsik”.
