Romantic overtures are very much on the table in the latest teaser for SBS’s fantasy-romance My Demon. The teaser opens with our young, prickly, and gorgeous CEO heroine Do Do-hee, played by Kim Yoo-jung (Lovers of the Red Sky). We learn quickly that she’s highly successful, and in her own words, married to the job. She’s not interested in men at—
On that line, the teaser grinds to a halt and all the audio goes out. Yep, Do-hee just had an up close and personal meeting with the washboard abs of our resident demon Jung Gu-won, who’s played by Song Kang (Forecasting Love and Weather). She’s distracted for a moment by his physique, but then manages to bounce back. One might wonder what he’s doing at her company with his shirt wide open and a cross around his neck but hey, that was some really effective editing so we’ll take it.
In the following sequences we focus on Do-hee’s world and we see that there’s speculation around her company that she’s having an affair with — gasp! — a new employee.
We see Do-hee and Gu-won hiding in a storage room in close quarters (essential!), and then several instances where he hits on her, from the public hand grab to the more covert under-the-table hand grab (I live for this trope!). Poor Do-hee is flustered by all this, but Gu-won doesn’t seem to have a problem with his romantic advances and skinship. Ha, this drama looks like pure eye candy + fan service, and I’m here for it.
Written by Choi Ah-il (Mr. Queen) and directed by Kim Jang-han (You Raise Me Up), My Demon premieres on November 24 in the Friday-Saturday slot.
