Blackpink’s Jennie Targeted By Racial Discrimination in France

Recently, BLACKPINK’s Jennie appeared at the Paris Fashion Week and drew significant attention with a brand new look in blond hair.

Following this schedule, Jennie was spotted taking a “group selfie” with fans after shopping in her personal time. However, the story behind this group selfie was nothing to be happy about, as revealed in other posts of the aforementioned “fans”.

In particular, one of the people in the group selfie published a video on their TikTok, showing how they caught Jennie as she exited a clothing shop. In the background of this video, the group can be heard making rude remarks at Jennie when she tried to enter her car, guilt tripping the female idol by saying, “Are you serious? Do you hate us?”, until she agreed to take photos.

Notably, one person even went as far as to call Jennie a “B*tch” when the BLACKPINK member initially rejected them.

As if this was not enough, the gang of “fans” who took the group selfie with Jennie were later exposed to have stalked the female idol around Paris in the scooters.

Currently, the members of the group have all privated their SNS accounts and took down the video where they insulted Jennie.

Meanwhile, Korean media also reported that Jennie faced racism while in France.

Particularly, a video circulating online shows Jennie meeting 1994-born American actress Margaret Qualley at the event. In the video, after hugging Jennie, Margaret rudely touched Jennie’s blonde hair without permission and asked, “Is it real?

When Jennie replied that it wasn’t, Margaret responded, “It looks real.”

This behavior has sparked outrage among many international fans, who criticized Margaret Qualley for what they perceived as racist behavior. They pointed out that asking an Asian person, who naturally doesn’t have blonde hair, if their hair is real can be seen as a form of racial discrimination.

As of now, Margaret Qualley has not made any statements regarding the incident.
