Sometimes it’s not until you undergo the DB Year in Review and have to consider the dramas you watched during the year that you can actually face the truth: this was a pretty unremarkable year for dramas.
Sure, there were some big, fun titles (King the Land, Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938), some that deserve their acclaim (Revenant, Moving), and some surprise gems that made it all worthwhile (Twinkling Watermelon, Perfect Marriage Revenge). But the outliers aside — and the enormous breadth of content notwithstanding — we were certainly hit with lots of mediocrity. And, I mean, be a dumpster fire, please… but don’t be boring and mediocre. It’s the drama kiss of death.
So with a mediocre year behind us, what keeps you coming back? Why are you sticking around in dramaland for 2024, and what exactly is making you stick? A few titles you’re looking forward to? A rookie you want to see shine? The faith there will be more well-crafted and wonderful shows coming if we just stick it out?
What’s keeping you in dramaland for 2024, and why?
