Team Dramabeans: August 19, 2024 – What We’re Watching with missvictrix

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Moving: Despite being unsure what to expect with this one, I loved the tone of the first episode. Rather than be comical and gimmicky (the two adjectives that come to mind when I think “superhero story”), I enjoyed the drama’s tension and dark underbelly. Han Hyo-joo is the best thing since sliced bread. The violence was a bit much for me, but it did capture the dark webtoon vibe so I see why they did it. I will either save this drama for a big binge, or just try to convince everyone I know to watch it — you know, to make them watch a K-drama without them really realizing it at first.

Behind Your Touch: Had to tune in for this, and while I think they did a really fun job with the exposition of the super power and butt-touching in general, I was in the wrong mood to watch when I watched, so I didn’t really laugh at all. I could laugh at it — I do love absurdist humor — but this is a drama that has to be watched at the right moment.

Currently covering: The Uncanny Counter 2

My Lovely Liar: The amount of times I blushed and kicked my feet while watching Episode 6 has to be unhealthy. Do-ha taking off his mask… squeal! Piggybacking a drunk Sol-hee… swoon! Sol-hee’s drunken imagination of that scene… gasp! Asking her out on a date… heart flutters! “I dressed up to impress you”… dies! Umbrella scene… *cries in ghost* Do-ha and Sol-hee are so darn adorable, I can’t get enough of them.
