In dramaland, leading ladies often find themselves torn between the love of two equally attractive men — a choice none of us would want to make! But what if you did have to pick between the frustrating lawyer and the adorkable police officer? In this weekly feature, we ask you to make the difficult decisions — and we aren’t limiting our options to dreamy oppas.
Vote via the poll and feel free to use the comments to explain exactly how you were able to choose! So, Beanies:
WOULD YOU RATHER #17 RESULTS
I’d be lying if I said the results from our most recent poll surprised me. When the majority of Beanies who responded to Would You Rather #16 identified as introverts who’d rather stare at their neighbor from afar than make friends, I figured the same majority would rather sit behind a camera than be in front of it — especially when “trashy” television is involved. Mostly, I was looking for a conversation and an unofficial comparison between Love is for Suckers and Oh! Young-shim, but those of you who were inclined to comment on your choice had some amusing opinions on the matter.
Right out of the gate, @attiton’s paraphrasing (“Who here likes being in charge, while not actually being the center of attention?”) felt like a personal attack because of its accuracy, but I’m right there with her on her apt descriptor of the PD occupation. And like @asianromance, I think I’d also enjoy some of the post-production process, like coming up with the funny onscreen captions. While there were those that were clearly drawn to the producer job, others picked it as the lesser of two evils. According to @jillian, the “endless public scrutiny” is extremely unappealing, and @marysadanaga agreed that she’d rather have “some measure of control and anonymity than be subjected to misleading editing for the sake of ratings.”
But Dramabeans has a few aspiring television personalities in our ranks! @lapislazulii fully admits to wanting the fame, even if it means risking the possibility of negative press that’s often associated with trash reality TV. @nerdy, however, is a little more confident that she can fly under the radar without stirring up a lot of controversy. Plus — and she makes a very valid point here — she’d be able to get a free vacation out of the experience. Hmmm… Would a free island vacation be worth the Single’s Inferno-level drama?
