I guess it’s time to stock up on that popcorn as promos have kicked off for Netflix’s The Trauma Code – Heroes on Call, bringing in all the action things with a capital A. But never fear because Joo Ji-hoon (Light Shop) is here, swashbuckling his way through the danger to save lives and maybe steal my Choo Young-woo’s (The Tale of Lady Ok) heart.
In the approximately one minute first trailer, we have already got motorcycles, helicopters, and exploding cars to boot. And amidst all this fiery fanfare, Dr. Baek Kang-hyuk (Joo Ji-hoon) makes his ~cool~ entrance, ditching his aviators for another pair of shades and almost terrifying the hospital staff with his brusque appearance. Everyone then gathers for Kang-hyuk’s big introduction speech, which hilariously turns out to be a not that shocking announcement.
Although it’s hard to take Kang-hyuk’s puffed up ego too seriously (not to mention that oh-so-perfect smirk), we see in the sequence that he is indeed a highly skilled surgeon and is immensely dedicated to his work. Sneaking a cute glance, Dr. Yang Jae-won (Choo Young-woo) can’t help but be impressed. The story will then follow our two leads as Kang-hyuk becomes a teacher to Jae-won, taking him under his wing and working together to build the hospital’s Trauma Team into a Trauma Center.
Also starring Yoon Kyung-ho (Doubt), Ha Young (Face Me), Jung Jae-kwang (Gangnam B-Side), and Kim Eui-sung (Check In Hanyang), production for the medical action-comedy has filmmaker Lee Do-yoon (Confession) at the helm and scripts by Choi Tae-kang (Adamas). Netflix’s The Trauma Code – Heroes on Call will be releasing later this month on January 24.
