Celebrating a pretty successful year for SBS, Shin Dong-yup took up his post again as host for the SBS Drama Awards, this time joined by Kim Hye-yoon and Bona to celebrate 2024’s year-end. As is SBS tradition, there were categories upon categories to bestow winners and trophies were doled out in heaps to ratings hits: Connection, Good Partner, The Judge from Hell, and The Fiery Priest 2.
Although I was a little surprised to see one name unawarded in the list, deservedly the biggest prize went to Jang Nara for her incredible performance in Good Partner. To add some trivia, this is notably Jang’s first Daesang in acting, but it isn’t her first-ever. Early in her career, Jang won the Daesang at KBS’s 2002 Music Awards and she’s now the first in K-entertainment to have won this prestige in both singing and acting.
