Titled after the city district where our office romance sets its scene, tvN’s new legal series Seocho-dong has announced their main cast with Lee Jong-seok (Big Mouth) and Moon Ga-young (The Interest of Love) leading the lineup.

Promising us a heartwarming and humorous tale in a slice-of-life style story, we’ll be following our main pair in addition to three mutual friends, with all five working at the same building in Seocho-dong, but each in different law firms. Spending their precious lunch breaks together, our central group forge bonds through yummy meals and commiserate over their shared experiences as fellow associate lawyers.

Adding what seems to be an opposites-attract setup for the romance side of series, Lee Jong-seok’s character Ahn Joo-hyung is a realist and has the highest seniority as an associate attorney at his law firm, having worked at the same company for the past nine years. But his experience, of course, has become a wealth of knowledge and skills, nurturing Joo-hyung to become very capable in his job.

Moon Ga-young, in contrast, plays the passionate and still-learning Kang Hee-ji who has only just passed her one-year mark as a lawyer. Having an idealistic spirit for justice, the affectionate Hee-ji earnestly believes that one life can change the world and she strives to become a lawyer who helps the people.

In the role of Jo Chang-won, Kang Yoo-seok (Black Knight) is a charming and chatty busybody, who likes to get involved in everyone’s business and enjoys joining every outing. As an extroverted energizer bunny, he’s the leader of their attorney lunch club – at least by name.

But the real leader of their quintet is the tough and competitive Ryu Hye-young (Gangnam B-Side), taking on the part of Bae Moon-jung. Like a moth to a flame, she persistently charges ahead to win each of her cases. But despite appearing blunt and gruff, Moon-jung has a big heart for others.

Last but not least, we have Im Sung-jae (Gangnam B-Side) playing Ha Sang-ki, who is constantly stressed by both work and people until that glorious pay day comes around. As a hobby, Sang-ki also runs a food blog and diligently posts about their attorney group lunches.

Expected to broadcast in the early half of 2025, production for tvN’s Seocho-dong has PD Park Seung-woo (Adamas, Kairos) directing with writing by real-life lawyer Lee Seung-hyun.
