Moon Ga-young Uncovers Choi Hyun-wook’s Secret in My Dearest Nemesis

A new teaser has dropped over at tvN for its upcoming romantic-comedy My Dearest Nemesis starring Moon Ga-young (The Interest of Love) and Choi Hyun-wook (Twinkling Watermelon). Based on the webtoon by Hyejinyang, the adaptation follows a failed first love and the hijinks that ensue from their unfortunate reunion.

A black dragon appears through a cloud of purple smoke at the start of this teaser, referencing the Korean’s literal title “That Man is a Black Salt Dragon.” With a mighty roar, the beast announces its awakening after thousands of years of being trapped, but this fantastical imagining turns out to be just that – a.k.a., the daydreams of Ban Joo-yeon (Choi Hyun-wook). Our hero cheerily lifts up a tiny version of the dragon – this one more cute than ferocious – but his smile falters as he is brought back to reality by none other than his first love and current employee Baek Soo-jung (Moon Ga-young).

Soo-jung asks what he is doing, but the question is rhetorical since she already knows his secret. Leaning in closer, she promises to turn a blind eye to his personal life, which sounds more scandalous than it is. While Joo-yeon squirms away from Soo-jung to hide his figure, she keeps trying to get a peek, wondering if he is hiding something to eat.

The poster released alongside the teaser shows the two leads together in his office with him hiding under his desk. The walls are covered with images of his interests while he reads comic books away from any prying eyes. Above him, Soo-jung looks professional and poised despite having to see her ex again as her boss, and the text reads, “My first love, and my most embarrassing past.”

Directed by PD Lee Soo-hyun (Delightfully Deceitful) with scripts written by Kim Soo-yeon, tvN’s My Dearest Nemesis is slated for twelve episodes and premieres February 17 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
