Curtain Call: So. Finally. Jae-heon has been caught. It was a good reveal (I really liked Ha Ji-won’s acting here), but honestly we have had this particular carrot dangled in front of us for so long that I wasn’t as excited as I could have been if they did this when they promised it in any of our prior weeks. Anyway, let the mayhem begin! And let Noh Sang-hyun appear on the scene, because OPPA.

Revenge of Others: The plot thickens — constantly! But that’s not a complaint. That said, I hate Oh-seong with a passion, and while I like both leads individually and together, the only person I really care about what happens to them is Jae-bum. (Which doesn’t bode well for me, I know.)

Summer Strike: Watching Yeo-reum try to navigate her new responsibility-free life is obnoxiously stressful, and I don’t know how much more of it I can take.
Please Send a Fan Letter: This mini-drama worked well as four episodes, but I actually wish it had been six episodes instead. I’m still confused about what happened to Yu-na’s mother, so the extra time could have gone towards expanding Jung-seok’s backstory and fleshing out the happily-ever-after ending. Overall, it was super cute, and it will probably stick with me longer than most of the full-length dramas that aired this year.
Love is for Suckers: The ending was just meh for me. I had extremely high hopes for this drama, but mid-way through it became apparent that it wasn’t going to live up to my expectations. I stuck with it, though, because I was still rooting for our lead couple and the late-blossoming romance between our chef and webtoon artist. At least everyone got their happy ending — even Ji-yeon (*eyeroll*).

Summer Strike: I’m loving this so far. It reminds me of when I did this myself — just quit everything and moved away without a real plan (in my case, it wasn’t the countryside but a foreign country). Even though I know how things turn out in real life, I still love the romantic idea of it. The first two episodes captured so well that freedom in the beginning when it feels like the whole wide world is spread out in front of you. The second set of episodes moved off that track (and had me questioning the FL more than I would have liked), but overall I’m liking the tone and the cast of characters. I might hold off and binge it later, though, for maximum feels.
