Are you on the hunt for the elusive Armored Case in Escape from Tarkov? You’re not alone! This item is crucial for completing the Falling Skies quest, but finding it can be a challenge if you’re unfamiliar with the map layout. In this guide, I’ll show you exactly where to locate the Armored Case, along with some tips to make your search easier and safer.
Having spent countless hours navigating the treacherous terrains of Tarkov, I know how easily one can get overwhelmed by Scavs and hostile players. With the right strategies, however, you can enhance your gameplay and complete your objectives efficiently.
1. Preparing for Your Raid
To find the Armored Case, first, ensure you have access to the Woods map. If you haven’t unlocked it yet, your initial goal should be to do so. Begin your raid on the Woods map, where the real search will commence.
2. Where to Find the Armored Case
Your quest leads you to the center of the Woods map, specifically to the location of a broken airplane. This spot is marked on many player maps, but if you’re unsure, I’ve included a screenshot below for reference.

3. Navigating the Danger Zones
Be cautious! The area around the broken plane is teeming with Scav enemies, and you might encounter enemy players as well. If you have access to the PvE zone DLC, make use of that to help you complete the quest more safely. Keep in mind that the broken plane is also relevant to another quest involving a flight recorder.
4. Locating the Armored Case
While the flight recorder is situated near the tail of the aircraft, the Armored Case can be found close to the cockpit at the front of the plane. Look for an open door leading to the cockpit; the case will be on your left as you enter. Simply interact with it to add it to your backpack.

5. What to Do After Obtaining the Armored Case
Once you have the Armored Case, you face a choice. You can either:
- Keep the Armored Case for yourself, which diverges from the quest’s intended outcome.
- Hand it over to Prapor to successfully complete the task.
For me, the safer option was to turn it in. If you’re navigating back in low light conditions, the case can be hard to spot. Use the entrance to the cockpit as your guide; the case is sitting between the doorway and the cockpit entry point.
6. Common Concerns About the Armored Case
How can I ensure I get the Armored Case without dying? Team up with fellow players if possible, stick to cover, and approach the plane cautiously.
What if I can’t find the Armored Case after multiple tries? Sometimes, re-running the map after a server reset can make item spawns more favorable. Don’t get discouraged!
Is there a best time to hunt for the Armored Case? Early morning or late evening raids tend to have fewer players, making it easier to navigate.
Why is the Armored Case so important? This item allows you to store gear and is essential for inventory management, especially as you progress through quests.
In conclusion, with the right approach and knowledge, securing the Armored Case involves strategy and teamwork. Feel free to explore more about Escape from Tarkov and its rich mechanics. For additional insights, don’t forget to check out Moyens I/O.
