So, what are we all watching this week?
What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

My Liberation Notes: What a strong premiere. Granted, I was exactly in the mood for a story like this when I turned it on, but the drama immediately pulled me in for lots of reasons — really great writing and directing, a cast that felt like they were already inside their roles, an introspective vibe I love, and three siblings with struggles that were really easy for me to relate to. I like how even though our siblings have their struggles, they’re pretty good at voicing them (even if it’s just in their head). They know what’s wrong, but just not how to fix it. That in itself is a great backdrop for a story.
Our Blues: I can tell you are authentic and well-crafted, Show, but I’m not really getting emotionally invested in your story. Yet??

Thirty-Nine: It’s been a busy week for me, so instead of picking up one of the new/currently airing series, I chose to watch a few episodes of Thirty-Nine when I had down time. I knew just enough about the plot to suspect that I wouldn’t get so sucked in that I ignored all the other stuff I should be doing. It’s not exactly a story that has me racing to watch the ending, you know? But I’m surprised with how much I love these characters. I think I just enjoy watching shows about adult friendships and people finding romance in their late thirties/early forties. Not nearly enough of that on television, in my opinion.

Transit Love: I started watching this with my boyfriend out of pure curiosity, and it’s surprisingly entertaining! I’m not usually the type that enjoys reality shows, and this is the first dating one I’ve watched, but I found myself laughing way more than I expected to. The premise is interesting — four pairs of exes have to live under the same roof and either rekindle their old flame or meet someone new — and the cast members are all really likable (Bo-hyun and Min-young are so endearing). I can’t decide if I want to root for the exes to get back together, or if I want to get excited over potential new love lines. I just want all of them to be happy!
