A new video teaser has been released for JTBC’s new youth rom-com More Than Friends (formerly Number of Cases), featuring the main trio: Shin Ye-eun (Welcome), Ong Sung-woo (A Moment at Eighteen), and Kim Dong-joon (Chief of Staff 2).
The story is about two friends, played by Shin Ye-eun and Ong Sung-woo, who have had a will-they-won’t-they relationship over the past 10 years. Although Shin has always been aware of her feelings for Ong, she is starting to feel cursed by her long-standing crush and failed attempts at love. All the while Ong is only beginning to realize how he really feels and jealousy starts to stir when Kim Dong-joon appears in Shin’s life.
The newly released teaser focuses on Kim Dong-joon’s character, highlighting his sweet and easygoing nature as well as his open approach to befriending Shin Ye-eun.

The video starts with Kim Dong-joon having drinks with Shin Ye-eun. He is initially taken aback by her drunken antics, but quickly smiles in amusement as he follows her out of the restaurant. In voice-over, we hear his proposition: “If you’re trying to figure out whether you can or can’t have good experiences with dating, I’ll do it for you. I’ll be your tester man.” As he speaks, we see the two sharing a drama moment with Shin about to slip and fall backwards when Kim catches her.
A text screen appears, reading: “Lifting the curse of unrequited love.” It cuts to Ong Sung-woo standing in the rain as he watches Kim Dong-joon and Shin Ye-eun drive off together. Ong asks Shin, “What’s your relationship with that CEO? Are you and him dating?” To which Shin replies, “What do you mean by that?” Returning back to Kim Dong-joon with Shin Ye-eun, this time at a library, Kim starts by triumphantly declaring, “I like you,” and quickly cedes, “That was a fail.” In the next scene, he presents her with flowers, explaining, “Bribery, it’s for you to consider me favorably.”
We see a second text screen, which reads: “Prince Charming appears riding a white horse.” Cut to Shin Ye-eun walking with Kim Dong-joon down a road. As he looks at her, he says, “If I continue to have reasonable excuses, keep meeting with me, like right now. Then, at some point, you’ll start liking me.” The teaser comes to a close with Shin standing face-to-face with Kim at the library. And, in voice-over, we hear Ong Sung-woo and Shin Ye-eun announce: “JTBC’s Friday-Saturday drama. A story about friends becoming lovers. More Than Friends. Premieres September 18.
Writing for the drama is Jo Seung-hee and directing will be helmed by PD Choi Sung-beom (My ID Is Gangnam Beauty). JTBC rom-com More Than Friends is currently set to air next month, starting September 18.
