A new video teaser has been released featuring lead actors Ji Chang-wook (Suspicious Partner) and Won Jin-ah (Life) in tvN’s new sci-fi romance Melting Me Softly (formerly Melt Me).
The story starts in 1999 where Ji Chang-wook, playing the role of PD Ma Dong-chan, is a popular variety show PD famous for his fun and innovative ideas. His newest TV project is to televise a cryogenic experiment and, in hopes of the show becoming another hit success, he participates in the experiment as well. The other participant is Won Jin-ah, playing Go Mi-ran, who signs up for the project as a part-time job. During the experiment, however, something goes wrong and instead of being revived after the intended 24 hours, both Ji and Won wake up 20 years later in 2019.
In the newly released teaser, the video starts with Ji Chang-wook looking at the heat sensor on his watch as he gets on an elevator. He explains in voice-over, “Because I had been cryogenically frozen, I can’t let my body temperature rise above 33 degrees Celsius.” Amid the crowd in the elevator, Ji notices Won Jin-ah and the camera cuts to a close-up of her as she seems to notice him as well. Ji Chang-wook’s watch starts to beep as his body temperature rises past 32 degrees Celsius. He looks over at Won again and this time she turns to look at him back. The two lock eyes, not noticing as everyone else shuffles out of the elevator in blurs, and are left alone in the elevator. Cut to Won Jin-ah’s watch as it shows her body temperature rising as well and the warning alarm starts to beep. The two shyly look away and the teaser ends with Won Jin-ah’s voice-over, “You and I, our most heated moment. Melting Me Softly. Premiering September.”
On the production team for the drama, writer Baek Mi-kyung (Strong Woman Do Bong-soon, Woman of Dignity) is penning the scripts; and directing is PD Shin Woo-chul (Fox Bride Star, Secret Garden).
tvN’s new Saturday-Sunday drama Melting Me Softly is currently set to premiere towards the end of the month, on September 28.
