Racket Boys: I was frustrated by the Olympic preemptions but the last episode was worth the wait. What a perfect ending for a drama that managed to be a bright ray of sunshine week in, week out. There’s so much to love about the final episode, from the way the racket kids got to savor their victories, to the happy endings for all the villagers, to In-sol’s dad becoming his #1 fanboy. Where can I get myself one of those cute headbands and fan placards?

Currently weecapping: Nevertheless, You Are My Spring
My Absolute Boyfriend: Hah, Episode 2 makes it abundantly clear where this drama is going to go with this swoony, sexy, yet totally innocent robot boyfriend. I can’t tell if I’m cringing or laughing. Maybe a little bit of both? I’m a huge Yeo Jin-gu fan, so this is a fun role to see him in. I’m not sure how he manages lines like, “Do you want to take a bath with me?” without cracking up, blushing, or just running out of the room in embarrassment, but top scores for making me believe he’s a perfect love-bot lol.
The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim: Some dramas should take their episodes and shorten them to 15-minute run times (maybe Nevertheless would benefit from this?). Other dramas should take their 15-minute episodes and make them into delicious 60+ minute extravaganzas: and that’s what I wish would happen with Ga Doo-shim. The plot progression in Episode 4 was great, and I love the adorable bonding between Kim Sae-ron and Nam Da-reum. He went from terrified in his bed, to raring to go, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for this pair. Also, for a sorta-kinda-webdrama, the production quality is really nice here, and I’m enjoying the crisp shots and the overall look and feel of the drama. I want more!

Hospital Playlist 2: A week does not feel complete without watching Hospital Playlist 2 while eating. Does anyone else feel like they’re just catching up with their friends’ lives while watching this? I can’t believe Joon-wan didn’t know what a muggle or who Malfoy was, pfft. This week, my heart broke for Rosa when she came to her own conclusion about what was happening to her. I just really appreciate the range of emotions this show evokes, and I don’t want it to end…ever.
Police University: Is it the perfect show? Probably not. Do I love it anyway? Heck yeah! I’ve been looking for something to decompress with after a long day of work, and this fits the bill. A great father-son relationship? Check. A female lead that’s competent and empathetic? Check. Potential for buddy cop hijinks down the road? Check. I am cautiously optimistic that this will be a fun and heartfelt journey.

Police University: I checked out the first episode mostly out of curiosity, and found myself getting more and more invested as the episode went on. The only reason I haven’t gone on to the second episode yet is because I haven’t had time — but it’s top of my list as soon as I do. I’ve had a soft spot for Jinyoung’s characters ever since Persevere, Gu Hae-ra (the second episode of which absolutely wrecked me), and I can already tell this one will be no different. I started the episode with zero expectations, and ended it fighting back a few tears. But here’s hoping the emotions remain sprinkled in with lots of fun, too, because I am all here for plenty of crime-fighting, cyber-hacking antics.
