Team Dramabeans: What We’re Watching – Missvictrix Quirky Case

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Currently weecapping: My Roommate is a Gumiho, Nevertheless, You Are My Spring

The Devil Judge: Well this was way more convoluted and unsettling than I expected! The first episode was a little hard to follow, requiring such elaborate set-up, but I really liked what we got, and how swiftly the world-building was done. A future where a group of elites run, well, everything, and the citizens are duped into going along with the masquerade? *shudder* Ji Sung is always great as a morally ambiguous character, and I like what we see of him here, and Jinyoung is just the “safe” narrator we need in this world of chaos. But, not gonna lie, it was Veronica Parrrk that I was most tickled to see here. With such a sophisticated set-up in just one episode, I’m sure the drama has quite the plot to unfurl.

At a Distance, Spring Is Green: Soo-nam smiles now! He made big strides this week, learning to let other people in. His and Joon’s growing friendship is still my favorite thing, and I need them to be best friends forever.

Hospital Playlist 2: Poor Joon-wan had it rough this week; he really needs a break. On another note, I love Jung-won’s parents. They’re just so cute together! Watching their interactions always makes me smile.

You Are My Spring: I just couldn’t get into this. Besides the frustrating portrayal of a mental health professional who diagnoses people within seconds and acts more like a detective than a clinician, I think I’m getting tired of these romance-amidst-murder dramas. I like Seo Hyun-jin and Kim Dong-wook, but I think I’ll wait to catch them in their next projects.
