You won’t be able to catch a wild Greninja in Pokémon Legends ZA. However, it’s possible to catch and evolve Froakie, starting with the Side Mission titled “A Challenge from Froakie.” You can find Froakie in Wild Zone 16, both during the day and at night. Once you’ve caught it, level it up to 36 to evolve it into Greninja.

How to Evolve Greninja into Mega Greninja in Pokémon Legends ZA

To transform Greninja into Mega Greninja, you’ll need two essential items: Greninja and its Mega Stone called Greninjite. While you cannot catch Mega Greninja directly, once you have Greninja holding the Greninjite, you’ll need to utilize a Key Stone to initiate the Mega Evolution.

Currently, the only known method to acquire a Greninjite is by participating in the Z-A Battle Club. You can earn this Mega Stone as a reward for battling other trainers in online Ranked Battles. To access the online multiplayer mode, simply select the Link Play option from your Menu, which unlocks during the quest “A New Life in Lumiose City.”

Ranked Battles offer three types of rewards:

  • Battle rewards received after each match
  • Promotion rewards awarded as you rise in rank
  • Season rewards at the conclusion of each season

Mega Stones for Mega Greninja are available only as promotion rewards. The first season of Ranked Battles kicks off on October 16, and the duration is yet to be announced.

Before I wrap things up, you might be wondering: How do I catch Froakie quickly? The key is to check both day and night in Wild Zone 16 to maximize your chances. Just stay patient, and you’ll find one!
