Dabi vs. the Todoroki Family in the Final War

Since emerging as Dabi, he has been intent on obliterating his father, Endeavor, alongside everything he holds dear. Although Dabi collaborated with AFO and the League of Villains to dismantle the heroes and seize the One For All quirk from Deku, his ultimate goal remained personal revenge. The pivotal clash between Dabi and his brother Shoto Todoroki occurred at Kamino Ward.
The encounter was marked by tension, yet a simple conversation couldn’t sway Dabi from his deadly intentions. Their battle was intense, with Shoto initially seeming victorious through his Great Glacial Aegir move. However, Dabi quickly adapted, showcasing his mastery of combat with the Flashfire Fist: Phosphor move and breaking free from Shoto’s grasp.
Realizing the fight could end his life, Dabi seized intel from Skeptic and raced through a warp gate to confront Endeavor at the Gunga Mountain Villa, where a showdown against AFO loomed.
Dabi Left Severely Injured After Confronting His Family

Dedicated to taking down Endeavor, Dabi pushed himself to the limits, even converting his body into a ticking bomb packed with blue flames. He announced an impending explosion that threatened a 5km radius within ten minutes, endangering Pro Heroes and civilians alike. Ignoring Endeavor’s desperate pleas for restraint, Dabi was resolute on erasing everything in his path.
At the crucial moment, Rei, his mother, intervened, emitting ice to cool Dabi’s explosive charge. Soon joined by Fuyumi and Natsuo, they employed their icy powers to counter Dabi’s threat, just as Shoto arrived to unleash his Great Glacier Aegir attack. This time, their combined efforts extinguished the flames, halting the explosion. Although Dabi was captured half-frozen, he managed to survive the encounter with his family.
Dabi’s Fate in the Epilogue Period of My Hero Academia

While Dabi managed to survive the final clash, his story concludes tragically. After the explosion was averted, Dabi remained in critical condition and required a life-support chamber. His grudge and extraordinary will kept him alive for a while, yet he was in a dire state, ultimately leading to his demise off-screen about eight years after the war.
During his final moments, the Todoroki family attempted reconciliation with Dabi. However, his end came quietly due to the extensive injuries he sustained. While many fans hoped for a different conclusion with his redemption, creator Kohei Horikoshi chose to end Dabi’s arc on a poignant note, posing the question: Did Dabi’s fate align with what he deserved?
