JJK Modulo Chapter 7: The Return of the Most Hated Villain

JJK Modulo Chapter 7: The Return of the Most Hated Villain

The Jujutsu Kaisen spin-off manga, Modulo, has introduced an exciting new generation of sorcerers. Alongside fresh characters, JJK Modulo revisits beloved figures from the original Jujutsu Kaisen series. While we’ve already seen Yuta and Maki, and heard mentions of Gojo and Yuji, the latest chapter, Chapter 7, brings back one of the most notorious villains: Mahito. Many fans had long believed him to be dead, making his return quite the shock.

It’s safe to say that the Jujutsu Kaisen community shares a common disdain for Mahito. This special-grade cursed spirit stands out as a quintessential antagonist. Since his arrival, he has consistently posed a significant threat to both sorcerers and humans alike. The havoc he wreaked left a trail of destruction, including the tragic fates of beloved characters like Junpei and Nanami, even coming close to eliminating Nobara.

The trauma inflicted by Mahito is unlike that caused by any other villain. Consequently, his return evokes both excitement and dread among fans who have retained their contempt since the original series concluded. Now, as we dive into the storyline of Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, Mahito’s re-emergence marks a noteworthy turning point.

In Chapter 6, Maru and Tsurugi sink into unconsciousness following a clash with an old curse user. Thankfully, Usami, a newly introduced member of the Inumaki clan, manages to defeat Masaki using his cursed speech. In Chapter 7, Tsurugi finds himself hospitalized and unconscious, only to be awakened in a dream by someone eerily familiar.

That familiar, sinister smile and the patchwork of his body leave no doubt: it’s Mahito. He taunts Tsurugi, mocking his condition by stating he thought he would find “him” in better shape. The identity of this “him” remains unclear. Is he alluding to Tsurugi’s potential to rival Yuta or Yuji? We’re eager to uncover these secrets!

We Might Get to See Mahito vs. Old Yuji in JJK: Modulo

The sudden return of Mahito raises intriguing questions: How is he connected to Tsurugi? Previously, Mahito was defeated by Yuji during the Shibuya Incident and ultimately consumed by Kenjaku. That said, his reincarnation in the JJK spin-off hints at a deeper narrative. Some speculate that Yuta’s ring plays a role, particularly since Rika devoured Kenjaku’s remains during the final battle. We will need to keep reading to uncover the mysteries in upcoming chapters.

Consider Yuji’s powerful declaration before he faced Mahito: “I’m gonna kill you. Even if you come back as another curse, I’ll kill you. Change your name. Change your form. I’ll kill you again. I don’t need to find meaning or a reason,” he vowed. Given Mahito’s return as a curse in JJK: Modulo, it’s likely that we’ll witness Yuji once again pursuing him.

For now, Mahito is back on the scene, and we can only hope he refrains from targeting our beloved characters in JJK Modulo. What are your thoughts on Gege’s choice to resurrect Mahito in JJK: Modulo?

As the Jujutsu Kaisen story continues to unfold, there’s much to look forward to. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the series, the reintroduction of characters keeps the excitement alive.
