Donkey Kong’s ability to smash virtually everything adds a new dynamic to gameplay. Want to know what’s behind that wall? Smash it! Curious about how deep the ground goes? Smash it! You can even throw rocks, climb walls, and discover hidden areas, making the exploration feel limitless and rewarding.

In those 20 minutes, I barely scratched the surface of the game as I indulged in the joy of destruction, uncovering new rooms and items with every smash. It was clear—I need a Switch 2 to experience this journey from start to finish.

While the Switch 2 officially launches on June 5, 2023, Donkey Kong Bananza won’t be available until July 17, 2023. The same goes for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which I also had the opportunity to play at the event. Although Mario Kart has never been my favorite, the intensity of knockout mode made for a thrilling experience. By the end of my demo experience, I was convinced: the Nintendo Switch 2 is a must-have. But before concluding, I had the pleasure of trying Hades II, long awaited on consoles and previously available only on PC. Though I met my demise twice, I was eager to explore more and conquer this new journey.
